I switched on the thermostat and immediately turned it off. That action killed my furnace. Thanks for showing the black smudge in the center of the blown fuse which helped me identify the problem. A quick trip to Autozone for a 3 amp blade fuse and now my furnace is back in business.

UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust kzbin.infoUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Good troubleshooting Craig. As a master electrician, I have one tip though. Some naturally assume when they have a 0 volt reading that there is no "hot". It could also be a faulty neutral. At 8:02, you are checking the inducer fan supply by probing the hot terminal and the common neutral point. More accurate would be to check both the hot and the neutral right at the connector plug. This insures you have not lost your neutral between the common point and the connector plug.

I have another reason for your list: I had a HVAC contractor who shall remain nameless install a new 90% condensing furnace and new central AC system in 2015. Worked great. In October 2018 it finally turned cold, and I switched my thermostat from "cool" to "heat." Could hear the blower come on, and the furnace's high voltage igniter cycling, but the main burner would not come on. Called HVAC contractor who installed, and with which I had a "priority customer" annual maintenance contract. Sorry, they couldn't send anyone to my house because my area was under wild fire "warning evacuation." So suffered through 5 days of no heat until evacuation warning was lifted. When tech finally arrived, took him about 3 minutes to discover that a slide switch behind the furnace cover that controls power to the solenoid that allows natural gas to flow to the burners was in the "off" position. I didn't even know such a switch existed. Apparently the tech who did my annual maintenance check earlier in the year for some reason left the slide switch in the "off" position. Got a profuse apology, and I expect that the tech who did the annual check up is still getting razzed about it.

My girlfriend's furnace wasn't getting any heat. Her inducer wasnt turning on. A volt meter showed it wasn't getting any power. Another (different) video told me it was the HSI, so i replaced it. But that didn't fix the issue. Another video told me it was the flame sensor. I changed that too, and that didn't do it either. A third video told me to change the motherboard as the inducer and HSI weren't getting power. So I bought a new motherboard and changed it, but that too didn't fix the issue. I came across your video and learned in step #5 that weak batteries in the wall controller could be the culprit. Her house has two controllers, one upstairs, one downstairs. The upstairs wall controller displayed working digits in the display. Even so, I opened it up and saw that the batteries were corroded . So I changed the batteries in the upstairs unit. But that still didn't fix the issue, even though I cleaned off the terminals as well. The downstairs wall controller had a functioning display also. However, when I changed the batteries in the downstairs wall controller, the heat came on! So lesson learned, sometimes it's the simplest thing. My batteries had enough juice to work the display, but we're too weak to run the heat. Luckily for me all the parts I had purchased over these last two weeks, including the motherboard were returnable as I got them all on Amazon. Thank you for posting this video and helping me troubleshoot her issue, it saved my girlfriend a grip of cash on a service call.

Been troubleshooting my furnace for several hours 12/30/22 into 12/31/22. Took the doors off earlier today for an inspection - didn't know that there was a door switch that was preventing my furnace from turning back on. When I finally realized the main issue was that the furnace was not getting any power (checked the on/off power switch, checked the breaker) but it wasn't until I found and watched first 1:25 before my problem was solved. Held the Door Switch closed with my finger, and vuolla! After about a minute the furnace was back to running like before. Installed the door and my next step will be to invest in a magnet like you have to hold that puppy closed. Thank you sir! Very much appreciated!

3:10 - No need to pull the fuse to check it: after verifying 24volts to the board, if you measure 0volts across the fuse, it is good: if you measure 24volts across the fuse, it is blown.

When I turned on my furnace on last night, for the first time since last Fall, it began to heat the house, then quit. When I went to check the thermostat, I could hear a series of clicks through the air return grate. I hear one click, then a pause, then two clicks in rapid succession, then a pause, then it repeats. Same thing after turning it off then back on. Same thing after it being off overnight. Does that symptom indicate any particular source of the failure??? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi, Thanks for your great videos. I learned a lot from you. Will you please help me wit this issue. As I power on the furnace I get the error code 31 which is 3 short flashes followed by a long flash. Please see below for a description of the code. I know my the inducer is OK but it received not voltage and the pressure switch is also fine. Nothing happens not even any noise just the LED light. It can’t be any blockage because nothing turns on to sense that. What do you think I should check for? Thanks! 3 1 : PRESSURE, DRAFT SAFEGUARD, AUXILIARY-LIMIT (when used), OR BLOCKED VENT SHUTOFF (when used) SWITCH DID NOT CLOSE OR REOPENED - If open longer than five minutes, inducer shuts off for 15 minutes before retry. Check for: - Proper vent sizing and condensate pitch - Inadequate Combustion air supply. or sag. - Low inducer voltage. - Vent restriction or high winds. - Disconnected or obstructed - Defective inducer motor or start capacitor. pressure tubing. - Defective pressure switch or connections. If it opens after trial for ignition period, blower will come on for 90 second recycle delay.

Should start with the batteries in the thermostat. That anyone can check and fix. Unfortunately it was the last and after I panicked not having a voltage meter trying to figure out what I was looking at based on your pictures it was just the batteries. Greetings. Great video. Thank you very much. My inducer motor was starting, running for a few seconds, and then stopping before the burners were turning on or anything else. When I checked the voltage between wires R and C, as you mention at about the 5:00 mark of you video, the infuser motor started running and stayed on, the burners came on and the furnace appears to be functioning normally. My question is, "Why?" and my concern is that, because that was so easy, it won't be the permanent fix. Do you have any suggestions as to what I may be up against if it quits? Thank you!!!

I had this problem this morning. Heat would not start. Testing the voltages, I noticed the wires move. Hmm. Loose screw at the "C" terminal.
