Hello mate, great video thank you very much. I have a Zanussi kitchen top hob, and 3 rings works perfectly, but 2 of them only just come on and hardly produce any heat, as if turned down to minimum. Any advise ?

Hi, thank you for the very informative video! I'm having an issue with one of my four hobs, which only ignites very occasionally. So, I thoroughly cleaned it as you suggested just to make sure (although it wasn't particularly dirty to begin with), but to no avail. Currently, when I hold down the ignition button to create a spark, the clicking sound is regular and normal (and the other three hobs are visibly sparking correctly), but with the hob in question a visible spark is only being created very occasionally (it does reach the burner cap though), and comparatively to the other hobs the spark looks weaker. I removed the burner cap and head, and I tested touching the electrode tip with my finger whilst holding down the ignition button, and I receive a mild electric shock every time a click occurs, so, there is definitely some charge getting through to the electrode tip every time, but it's evidently not strong enough to consistently create a spark that reaches the burner cap. When I remove my finger from the electrode tip there is no visible spark, and in general there is no visual evidence that the spark is grounding elsewhere, but, I obviously don't know what is occurring underneath the stove top. Does the information I've provided instantly suggest a specific issue? Many thanks for your help.

Thanks! This is exactly what I see - a spark, but not at the top. I think the ceramic (white part) must be cracked then!

Great Video. We have a smeg gas cook top c9gmxa with 6 burners, out of which only two ignites i.e spark happens when knob is pressed. For others when pressed, I can't hear click click click sound, but I'm able to ignite using gas lighter. What could be the problem? Thanks.

I have just had a hob not work today after I cleaned it a few days ago. It did work straight after cleaning as I always turn them on to make sure they work. However today I am not even getting the clicking sound. Gas is working as I can manually light the hob. Would it just be the little porcelain igniter. I have a Ascot 90cm freestanding oven / cooktop.

I have a good spark, spotless components, and can hear/smell the gas however when I apply an external flame only a few light and then go out. What would the fix be for this issues please. ??

Hi,all my gas rings are getting a very low flame, I’ve got 5 in total and the main big one is really low., I’ve cleaned the jets still the same issue. Any other suggestions thanks in advance!

If the flame is lit then I suggest you really have a close look at the Jets. It is usually a restriction in gas flow that causes a small flame.

Just replace my electrode because it was cracked and sparking at the bottom, but now the spark goes horizontally from the electrode to the burner head. Any tips on how to get the spark to go vertical to the cap?

I’m in Spain at the moment but I’m happy to help try using some wire wool on the burner body. This will create a better Electrical contact and it should jump across. Make sure you clean the base of the body as well. Remember electricity always takes the shortest route to earth.

@ Really appreciate your help sir! With the principle of electricity finding the shortest route back to earth in mind, I was able to devise a solution using copper wire to shorten the distance between the elctrode and the burner cap. Works like a charm. Thanks ! Enjoy Spain !

Can I ask, What if main no spark but any other one can use to ignite it? The main one just turn on gas and use other one to light it? What is wrong here? Thank you

You either have no electric going to the spark igniter the spark igniter may be broken or possibly no output from the igniting unit

Spark is visible. I can smell gas but it wont light when I put a flame near the eye. Is that normal? (GE model). All other eyes light perfectly.

What if Igniting to other stove? I don't know what's wrong. I checked each burner and found that it igniting two or more burner with one switch...😭

My burner lights up when I turn the knob. But as soon as I release the knob, the flame stops. I keep retrying the ignition & then it just comes on. Happens on all 4 burners. Just seems to have a mind of its own. Can you help me figure why? Thanks!

You did not say if it was staying lit or not lighting if it is not staying late it may be the thermal couple if it's not lighting then you either have a problem with the electrode the cable going to it all the ignition system

Hi, I'm here to help with your issue. If you've replaced a gas bottle, ensure it's the right type for your regulator. Gas pressures can vary in different countries, and you might be getting low-pressure gas, causing a small flame. A blocked jet could also cause a small flame. However, if all your burners have low flames, it likely means the regulator is faulty or you have the wrong gas for your regulator. I hope this explanation is clear. I have videos on my website to help with gas jets. If all your burners are affected, check the gas flow into your house, as it could be the regulator or the wrong type of gas. This will either be a problem with the switching system or you have bad contacts between the electrodes. I can't really imagine the spark igniter failing on four separate points.
