They probably use a lot of gas picking people up and taking them to the hospital. It is probably normal for them to get gas often, especially if they are in a city and make a lot of runs during the day. I would hope there is enough gas for the ambulance. I wouldn't want them to run out.

Republicans refuse to do their job they left on vacation knowing they needed to vote on a fema bill prior to the first hurricane. They act like people are stupid and can't see or find out what they are doing. I have seen a gas line that long after Hurricane Sandy in NY. I waited 8 hrs on a gas line to get no gas first day, then 6 hrs the second day to get no gas. Then this gas station told me to call after explaining I couldn’t get gas, he let me buy gas because I was a regular customer. He let me fill up with gas and put gas in portable gas tanks, I never in my life spent $100 in one shot to get gas because I knew I have no power for 2 weeks and the flooding after sandy was a complete disaster in NY. My parents rental house had 6 feet of water in Lindenhurst LONG Island NY it costing $68,000 to rebuild it. My uncle had $200,000 plus damage he lived on the water, lost $95,000 boat got a hole in it and ended up down the street, and his deck was damage, and so was his $10,000 generator and his garage flooded where the generator was located. I had no power for 2 weeks and it was freezing outside in my basement apt too. I had 2 cats so no one let me stay with them. I survived by ski pants and ski jacket 24/7 hrs a day. I had no space heater either. It was worst inside camping ever. A utility pole was knocked down so I was the last one of my friends to get power back 2 full weeks. Since I had no power, I had no running water in the apt because basements use water tanks too. So I had to use my parents bathroom because I couldn’t even flush the toilet on top of no power.

He's suspended tolls, free until "next" Monday, Fuel tankers coming with fuel to fill gas stations and he even ordered ALL Garbage dumps to stay open 24/7 before the Hurricane to get as much off the sides of the roads as possible! And just on the News here (SE Florida) they showed how, one of the dumps locked thier gates and closed, so the Governor ordered police to cut off the chains and showed a Police truck ripping the gates open, lol! On the East Coast we have lines during the day but at night there's nobody buying gas. The tankers are still delivering fuel. Right after the storm the tankers are right back at it. The vast majority of gas stations have generators so power outages mean nothing to them. Even some of the major intersections have generators to keep the traffic lights working. People act like Florida doesn't know how to handle these storms. We've been dealing with them since the dawn of time and only get better at it.

Those long lines make sense for mandatory evacuation zones. They are trying to fill up before they drive whatever their range is 300 to 500 miles before requiring another fuel stop. People who are already prepped in non evacuation zones with their generators and one dozen 5 gallon fuel cans are not in that line.
