Thanks so much for this. The trunk hinge situation has been a thorn for me. I have the EMS billet hinges and my struts are so strong they lift the deck lid at the front edge so I need to redo my geometry. This helps.

Great video! Quick question. Is the math the same if it’s going from let’s say 3 o’clock to 6 o’clock? I would like to place two for a piano upper panel that swings out on an upright piano but doesn’t stay up.

Hard to say without seeing a drawing. Generally speaking though, as soon as you start throwing angles into the equation, things change.

But it's not a 10lb weight at 32in, it's total weight is 10lb I agree but 10lb at 32in is like having a 10lb weight at the end of a 32in rod. Or am I missing the obvious
