Gas strut replacement | 1992 Honda Civic EG hatchback

The old gas struts on the hatch has lost their ability to open up the hatch.

I have a 94 vx with manual everything. Will this need a motor to lift on its own? Or will it lift by itself if I just buy the gas struts

it'll lift by itself. doesn't need any motors for this
