Hey Keith. We run all Stihl gas powered equipment. Trimmers, hand blowers, back pack blowers, pruners, quick cut saws, chain saws, etc. we do find they are the best quality. Some models do have weak points though and can be frustrating when you spend hundreds or thousands and it’s a poorly designed tool. (Quick cut saws had mufflers fall off on some models, hand blowers are hard to start on some models) For battery power we run Milwaukee as well. While we own them, Don’t use much of the pruning / chain saw tools as they are too slow and weak. But can be useful for a very quick touch up job. We do however love their drills, skill saws, grinders, hand blowers, automotive tools etc. those are used on a daily basis and are very durable and long lasting. I think in 2-3 years the pruning tools will be equivalent to has power tools, but they aren’t there yet.

My partner and I bought a 22in Battery Powered DeWalt and it’s done really good work for us. It’s extremely light which I feel helps a lot with hedge trimming as we want to get really smooth even cuts.

My main system is the Stihl Kombi with a KM 131R. Only maintenance it needed last year was a valve adjustment. Being multi-use and owning most of the attachments they make for it. Definitely gets used a lot! It has been a great investment. My only complaint is it can feel a little heavy after a while.

Ryobi hate to say but it worked 45 degree angle and 90 is nice to switch on the fly. I bought these in a pinch with no money and I needed trimmers when I first started and I love them. I should say the 40v one

I use my stihl ak series 56 to chop on perenial and ground scalping. Just got echoes ol 58 volt trimmer and lovvve it. Got stihls base ap model trimmer on order. Both the stihl 58v p.a.s and stihl kombi 135r pole trimmers are great. Echoes is a little lighter but the 135r has power. On a side note the new 9010 echo blower is a gamer changer.

Two years ago I was one of the people that frown on battery operated lawn equipment but now here I am two years later and I made an investment in Echo battery operated lawn equipment it's professional-grade and they're nice and quiet especially if you want to get started early in the morning doing hedges don't have to worry about waking up the neighbours most places I could only start at 8 or 9 in the morning battery-operated equipment is a whole lot quieter

We run the M18/M12 system due to the battery compatibility with all of their other tools. You may get slightly better results with other companies individual tools for certain jobs, but we’ve never lost time or been disappointed with the M18 system from a business standpoint. Our take is, the logistics of sticking with one system far outweighs the slight advantages gained through using multiple systems/batteries… YMMV

The hs 82 R and T are the best hedge trimmers from stihl and the only commercial ones. They're much better on fumes because the exhaust faces to the front. They also have a great anti-vibration system.
@graydongettier69433 жыл бұрын
I bought into the Stihl battery system. The AP300 battery lasts 2 hours of non stop use on my hedge trimmer. Husqvarna does have faster speed but I have 2 local Stihl dealers that carry the full battery line up and the one local Husqvarna dealer refuses to carry any of their battery equipment.

I have a Stihl HS45 & a HS81R, both are excellent machines but are loud and the 45's vibrates like a jackhammer. My hedgecutters of choice are my Husqvarna 122HD60 and 522HDR75X, they are far more comfortable to use and just as robust. For long reach, I use the Husqvarna 535LK pro combi, it has the power to do almost everything. Even used a clearing saw on it!

I use a stihl hs45 petrol, which was given to me by my father in law when he bought a battery one. It has great power and not too hard to start and maintain. But it is very loud. Given I only use it once a month for less than 30mins If I were to buy one I would definitely consider battery. But can't complain. This one is pretty good and he kindly gave me a $250 hedge trimmer for free.

I like Kobalt/Lowe’s hand tools.. just the chainsaw, hedge trimmers, and extension saw and trimmer.. just be sure to get same lineup to use interchangeable batteries- and charge the extra battery at customers house when power runs low.. If the kobalt breaks take it back and get a new one at Lowe’s. No more funding local repair stores with 2 cycle equipment repairs any longer! 😤
