I have been working with gate valve repairs 40 years. I would delete this movie working on these FMC Model 30 gate valves as it is one of the most unsafe acts of valve repair I have ever seen. These men with there new hard hats and new coveralls need to leave valve repair to people that know how before one of them gets them self or someone else killed. The supervisor or person in charge should have been fired.

Tim, in some areas there are some work circumstances force you to work aggressively out of any standard.... this job been achieved in such area where you can't apply the regulations and safety standards .... job done safely at the end, and those wells are producing safely since 2008!!! so the challenge (rather than showing your expertise) is to be able to achieve and get work done with lack of all resources.
@ihatejamon5 жыл бұрын
@@oilandgas8608 I mean, I can agree the job was finished but Tim said isn't wrong, that kind of mindset puts you more in danger than out, and a possibility you'll lose money for inexperienced repair and knowledge, just because safety regulations and standards don't apply out there doesn't mean it shouldn't be practiced or implemented.. you would want that more than ignore any logical person would

@Shawny Shawlts job implemented in war area...!!! no expertise would accept to risk being in sch area däringa that date, and local goverment demanded gas badly .... as i said before the resources been very limited ... no people, no budget, and 4 million people are waiting to get out of dark...i hate when people judging whithout understanding ...and from my view point each one attended this job was a real hero cos all known how risky it was..

@@oilandgas8608 sounds like you're not capable of conversation. And how am I supposed to know that..? No one is judging you, and that's not an area of wartime... you would have protection just like every other company that provides service in troubled areas

Hi, I saw your video about the wellhead repair and I have some questions for a gate valve project that I am working on. Could somebody be so kind and help me with answers to the following questions:- how frequent the preventing maintenace has to be done to the wellhead and the fracking valves in general: 30 days, 60 days, 90days...?- what involves preventive maintenance: greasing, repairing, replacing (with new or refurbished valves & components) ... - is maintenace done to all valves in the same time? are there areas more important than others (pumping line, wellhead, ...) - is maintenance a costly process ? how would you evaluate this cost comparing to the overall production cost?- are gate valves an important component in the fracking equipment? where are gate valves placed in the process?- are gate valves more sensitive that the other valves in the fracking process?- do gate valves need more maintenace that other valves?- would it make a difference if gate valves will not need any kind of maintenace for at least 1 year (for exmple) ? would it make any sense?- if something should change to make an impct in the fracing process, what should it be? Any help will be much appreciated.Thanks,Mihaela

Hi there it's sounds like you are wanting to know what the best valves are to frack through? Let me just start by saying you will need to have other information before selecting the correct equipment for example what pressure you are going to be fracking at ,what pressures you expect to see after fracking is completed. Also how many zones will be fracked on the well.from my experience usually valves will need to be serviced and tested after each well is completed as fracking generally wears the seats and gate from the harsh abrasive materials used in the frack ( sand ). Definitely the lower and upper master valves are considered your 2 barriers for safety. Valves can be refurbished gates and seats lapped to be reused where possible. If you would like and in depth conversation on all things wellhead & x mas tree I'd be willing to help you out.

First check your tail rods to see position of Gate. Try to operate. If unsuccessful back off BGF cap slowly incase ballcheck is not holding. Install bleeder tool to blow down. If it blows down pump lubricant with a hand pump and or a thin grease in body. Same thing to bearings in Bonnet. Don’t add packing ( note the more packing you inject the harder the valve is to operate) packing injection is only a temporary fix more than likely your Chevron/slug packing is compromised. Onward. Work gate don’t just keep spinning in one direction you could snap shear pin, packing nut, and or stem. Once you get one valve to operate preferably a master bleed off rest of tree. If you can get valve to open and close you’re in luck. If it’s stuck shut get a real service company and or well control team to Hot Tap gate.

No surface casing vent visible. How do you know if surface casing is leaking into ground water. 5℅ plus of all casings fail.

No safety at all a lot of remarkable things but I give you one in the tree cup it should contain a needle valve before making the gage in order to remove the gage safely and bleed the trapped pressure with the needle valve

as i see from the begining the job, the employs doesn't have enough experience to do the job, because almost of well has a pressure applied on it,so we need to pleed the pressure to work with easy and finish the job
