It's very good, way better than SAO, but it has it's problems as well. S2 dips into fillersville territory, S3 could be interesting but there is none because someone got into trouble with tax evasion.

started watching mmorpg-based anime with SAO and then Log Horizon and then Overlord. Log Horizon is the best imo. the story doesnt just built around the char but the world too.

Overlord comes a close second honestly, it's world building isn't nearly as intricate but it does a pretty good job. SAO Alicization at least did a better job focusing on more than just Kirito and built a decent world.

@@NarutoMagicCyclops sao did not follow that style of mmorpg but its cool , they focus more on personal rather than worldy factors and different characters thats why sao can never beat log horizon if mmorpg based. But i love them both.

@@accelerator7952 I dunno where your coming from on the MMORPG side, as for either Overlord or Log Horizon has little to deal with the style of the MMORPG than it does in just general world building, the people of the land for Log Horizon are living and breathing creatures with fully autonomous governments, trade and even religion and the kingdoms in Overlord are more or less the same. The mechanics of the world in either mostly govern physical interactions and political power based on individuals strength. Alicization just has good world building for what it is, unlike in ALO or SAO arcs where it's mostly dealing in interpersonal relationships and simple survivability. The end effect of SAO isn't so much about litererally living in the world your stuck in, SAO is more about AI and survival.

LH has genuine characters in it, even Democracy-kun was given an arch, if it was done by SAO team he would be roundly dispatched and Seraea would immediately fell in love with Shiro but recognisig Akatsuki as the alfa female would confine herself to staring at protag-kun ever so lovingly and occasionaly do something mildly badass only to be saved by protag-kun before she might present a risk to his badass station. Yes I gate SAO except for its soundtrack.

Overlord beats log horizon easily when it comes to world building, seasons 1-3 were more focused on nazarick and it's spread of influence but s4 and some stuff I saw in the light novel such as Yggdrasil, dragonlords, the Theocracy, the players, the elven realm, the holy kingdom, the city states, the immense amount of races and some other 15 nations as well as some mysteries and locations about the new world make Overlord number 1 isekai when it comes to world building

I just watched this anime 3 days ago. How I wished I knew this anime before. After I finished watching season 2, I cried. It was really an awesome anime. Knowing what I know now about this anime and all what happened to the author and why it was delay. I am really looking forward for the SEASON 3. i am really excited 😇😇😇.
