I used to work in a welding and fabrication shop a couple doors down from gas monkey, before y’all where there of course. the owner had taken away his sons 1957 Chevy truck senior year of high school for drag racing and parked it in one of those storage units across the street, and told the son it was sold and gone. 20 years later the son found it still in that storage unit untouched. It’s now back with him being rebuilt.

As a life long trucker and driving all the back roads I have found the holy grail of cars South Colorado . I haven’t seen so many 50s and 60s cars and trucks still in tact . You should take some back roads in Colorado you will be glad you did.

Heck my daily driver is a 450 hp 383 stroked lt1 firebird that I bought with 60k miles on it, four years ago in mint condition. Now has 150k and runs the Vermont dirt roads better than the General Lee and the mountain roads like KITT 🤣😂🤣but still looks and runs and drives as good as day I bought it. CARS WERE BUILT TO DRIVE!!!!!!

there is a private garage in nd not gonna say town but a guy i met has like 4 superbirds a mint hemi gtx and a shop full of hemis on engine stands and a plum crazy charger just sitting in the weeds millions of dollars in that garage in the middle of nowhere its impressive to see and one is an original nascar racecar that the guy used to drive fully documented

Any good mechanic with experience in British cars could have that running in an afternoon. Clean the breaker points on the SU fuel pump, guaranteed they're corroded from sitting. Stromberg and SU carbs are as simple as it gets to rebuild. Tune them with a "Colortune" kit, sync them with a "Uni-syn", and fill the dashpots with ATF. Done. Lucas electrical diagnosis, however, is pure sorcery. 😈
