You are right! I made this same decision 3 years ago. It was a very good one to make. I still have a certain person that still throws this decision in my face every chance he gets. I have no more meds for my heart condition nor is the heart condition there anymore so as far as I am concerned , I made the right decision for me.

Excited for you. I had the RNY in 2007. The best thing I ever did for me . I will be honest , I did get down to a twig lol. And I had to learn how to gain weight, I literally drank fair life milk for the protein, and put butter and Mayo on EVERYTHING for the calories. I’m back at my gain stage , I go through where I have to gain every few years , right now I’m about 15lbs OVER my target gain. But I ain’t no stick , so there’s that , I know a lot of people got down to a size 0 and think it’s cute, to me I looked sick. It wasn’t cute . I don’t regret anything. It’s just my reality. I may have to gain every few years. And that’s ok. I chose the RNY over the sleeve too. I’m excited for your journey . Thank you for sharing it with us . 💞💜 remember to get up and keep walking after!! Especially when you get home. 💞💜

Question 1; I don’t know about you but for pre op testing, I had to do 2 types of breath treatments and they had me bring home a breathing tube type thing to practice on, then while in the hospital after surgery, I had to bring my breathing tube from home to do them in the hospital.

Thank you for this video. I am thinking very very hard about having the bypass surgery. The only problem is I have to pay for it myself. I will be going to Mexico to have it done. It is waaaaay cheaper than here in the States.
@TobiasYoung3 жыл бұрын
Be sure you throughly research your doctor and their practice! You have to see this surgeon for the rest of your life and multiple times within the first year! That could become very expensive traveling back and forth depending on where you live in the states!
@lajamost2733 жыл бұрын
I did VSG in Mexico 07/03. It was a great experience. And I now go to my regular PCP I def. don’t travel back and forth. My PCP here in the US does my bloodwork and if I have issues they know what to check for. Good luck with your decision.

3.5 Years post VSG......my taste palette has changed since the surgery. I find it hard to even digest chicken now, particularly fried chicken. It seems to rough for my smaller stomach even almost 4 yrs out. There are certain foods that doesn't taste the same to me and there are certain foods that I've developed a taste for. Also I've notice that my sense of smell has changed. Each individual will have different results and different experiences.

I love this journey for you ty and will definitely be watching!! I am 30 days post op from the sleeve and have lost 21lbs thus far. I have 60lbs more to go. I have a question which is not to be rude. Is the bmi higher for the bypass vs the sleeve? The reason I ask is I noticed people that get the bypass want to lose hundreds of pounds vs someone like me who needed to lose 80lbs. I feel like the bypass is more extreme so maybe I'm not well informed. Love from Georgia 💛

Why not just do the post opp diet and exercise until you’re the size you want to be? It sounds like that’s what really helps the most, the stomach being smaller just keeps you from over eating which you can do yourself!😊
