Jujutsu sorcerers don't need to eat, drink, or use the bathroom...

Spoilers from Shibuya Arc. Very minor spoilers from Culling Game Arc.
In an interview, Gege Akutami (the mangaka of Jujutsu Kaisen) revealed an unused idea for the series: jujutsu sorcerers can opt to bypass the need to eat, drink, urinate, and defecate. A gastrointestinal cursed energy based 'bug' would be inserted into a sorcerer's stomach (through the mouth, one would hope). Presumably, urine and food waste are reprocessed by the bug to refuel the host's physical body enough to maintain proper metabolism and homeostasis.
Akutami did not specify whether these gut bugs were cursed spirits repurposed for symbiosis with sorcerers or the shitty shikigami of some cursed technique. My bet is they would've been a type of simple shikigami summoned via a cursed tool (like barriers, simple shikigami do not require an innate technique to cast). Whatever they are, these 'special bugs' allow jujutsu sorcerers to go on long missions without needing sustenance and bathroom breaks.
Why did Gege dump this hypothetical lore? Did JJK really need more crappy discourse? Gege writes weird shit sometimes, but I never foresaw Akutami cursing us with a LITERAL shitpost. I'm relieved this cursed concept was never excreted into the pages of the manga, but in the spirit of shitposting, taking the piss, and passing on curses, I'm gonna take this figurative bowl movement to maximum output and discharge a brown flash!

Cursed Pee could be used to mark locations or to track people, by throwing pee bags at them. The Cursed pee could also have higher acidic properties than normal pee, and may burn through skin and bones. Overall cursed pee could be quite a versatile thing.

I cant praise Jujutsu Kaisen enough. It's basic while being original enough to not scream cliche, rather dark plot twists and developments, solid character arcs, solid choreography(both in the manga and anime) and has extremely likable character designs. You'll find yourself becoming really attached to a niche background character just because you like their design or personality. Would recommend both the anime and manga.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction with enough cursed energy imbued into a sorcerer’s flatulence the could propel themselves like a f***ing rocket and fly. This would be doubly effective for gaining a speed boost in combat as well because you would also get lighter. Also I had a funny idea if explaining ct increases it’s power then one would also assume that taking a quick breather to pull out the whiteboard and explain your Sh** rockets would grant even greater speed.

I've read/watched tons of anime and manga throughout my life, but there's few current series I'm actively keeping up with atm. JJK, for me, is like a baseline for a competent battle shounen series, I'd say? It's not mindbogglingly spectacular or anything, but I describe it as a battle-focused shounen that manages to not shit itself. Many crappy shounen have their power systems and character dynamics go down the shitter at some point (if not right away), but JJK has kept its shit together (for the most part). _Edit from the future: A lot of people are probs thinking it shit itself at this point, but I'm gonna wait for it to end before making my call._ I also really dig its sketchy art, strange pacing, and atypical story presentation. A lot of people might describe some of those as "jank" I guess, but I have some low-key affection for the JJK jank.

@@uncivilizedelk lol not bad. I’m typically not a huge fan of battle shonens. The ones I do like are usually the really unorthodox ones like Fullmetal Alchemist, Chainsaw Man, or even Death Note (which I do consider to be a battle shonen and no one can convince me otherwise). But I recently read a bit of Bleach which is more of a traditional battle shonen series and, to my own surprise, I actually kinda like it. I know JJK is supposed to be super similar to Bleach as well so I think there’s a decent chance I might like it as well

I really disliked Bleach even back as a young teenager, which was way before people started to claim it fell off. So, uh, tastes vary a lot person to person; I would never recommend Bleach. Late Bleach is seen as a mega trainwreck by many tho, lol. I should also mention the JJK anime went super hard into polish over "jank" to the point where the visual aesthetic of the mediums is very distinct. I much prefer the manga look, but the anime went for widestream appeal instead. That being said, when the anime goes full sakuga, it looks fantastic.

@@uncivilizedelk damn haha. I’m only 50 chapters into Bleach so I’m only scratching the surface and could very well get sick of it later on (which is my usual experience with these long shonens). So far I find it kinda charming mostly because the pacing isn’t unbearably slow like almost everything else in the genre. But Bleach is so freaking long that I can totally see it slowing down and I probably won’t like it anymore if that happens. And I hate Mappa studios. Like literally everything about them. Not only have I not enjoyed a single thing I’ve seen from them, but I hate how they treat their animators and the studio head pisses me off. So I think I’m definitely gonna go with the JJK manga when I get around to it. Plus I usually like scratchy/janky art myself. Unique styles stick out to me more which can be fun

JJK pacing is really dang brisk (especially for a shounen manga), so yeah def give the manga a shot! FYI: JJK didn't hook me till I was pretty far into it, but it's also a better read in bulk batches than 1 chap/week. I think when about 70 chapters were out, I went back and reread it, and finally got pulled in. Also yeah MAPPA does suck (they took that "union" line out of Denji's jibberish song in the bath!!), but unfortunately the vast majority of anime studios are all run under horrid conditions, so sadly MAPPA isn't far from the norm.
