what a treat! it's always great hearing from this channel. i love infinity train, though i would rank season 3 slightly higher than 2. and the relationship between min and ryan i've personally always seen as platonic. also, i think close best friendship is rarely explored in shows, unless it turns romantic, so it's more interesting that way.

Interesting. Book 4 may have been my favorite one. Each book was better than the last for me with the exception of 3 and 4 being basically a tie. I was so hyped for a part 5 but big corporate crushed my dreams

Hey, longtime viewer here. Just wanted to say thanks for keeping the discussion around this show alive, Infinity Train was a huge influence on myself as an artist and a writer and while I have lost hope that the show will ever be renewed on HBOMax, part of me still REALLY wishes that someday there will be some sort of revival on a different platform. Until then, it's nice to see that people out there still have things to say about it and will continue to spread the good word even as capitalism continues to ruin the day once again. They were two things I was expecting from this season, 1- something horrible happening to one of them and 2- something that confirmed they had romantic feelings and non of those things happened. I said to myself that I wouldn't have expectations from future seasons and I guess now I won't.

Hm, I think the scene with the multiple times Ryan's relationships end up abruptly and poorly, plus how akwardly performative the flirting with the cat was, specially in contrast with how open and genuine he usually is, kind of suggest to me that maybe his attraction to women is driven by social expectations and does not come off naturally or at least in a way that allows for long term, healthy relationships. And gives extra weight to the queer reading of the story. But it's a bit convaluted, I admit

Min even said that Ryan returned in less than a year in one of the eps. Given that he dated three girls in less than a year (that we saw) this could be one of the interpretations, but as Ryan is very impulsive he could have entered into relationships very quickly, for example in just a week, without knowing the girl very well, because he must have been feeling alone as he was traveling without anyone. And as each girl were completely diferent to each other, perhaps he still doesn't know the type of person he wants for himself, being more concerned with curing his loneliness since his family doesn't care about him and his friendship with his best friend has suffered a huge blow. . He may be the type who has several “friends” who are not realy friends, but rather people he likes to hang out with (an extrovert must have problems something like that, I imagine), but what he wants is a genuine connection with someone. . At least that's my interpretation.

This book was ... Hard to watch in a god way. I watch it at a time when I like broke up with my best friend? And it was a hard pill to swallow to identify with the fuck up character, the one that is messy and dumb and nerdy and makes dreams thinking his friend will me in them just to find out he has been perceived as selfish and dumb all along. Honestly it's amazing how the show although yet is small and short was able to make me feel so much. I would have liked if they became a couple because I thought there was some gay shit going on there 👀 but even if they are just friends I still enjoyed it Also all the Emilia content was really cool, i hope they make comics or boos about more stories in the train if they don't manage to keep making it a cartoon, i would still support the hell out of it

I just... really couldn't stand Book 4. None of the characters were particularly interesting, I found Kez ESPECIALLY grating, and the lack of expanding lore could have been offset if there were anything esle to get into, but everything just felt so... cartoonish. Lower stakes is one thing, but a total lack of consequences is another. There was only one scene I thought was really well done, when they were talking in the labyrinth, but it gets pretty much washed away almost immediately. Great point about the possibility of them just talking things out in the normal train btw, it does really make you think!

wtf i havn't seen infinity train since season 2 had no idea it went past season 2...... this is why i havn't heard anything about it? it was one of the only shows id activley go to their network for. what a shame they really are dead set on killing T.V.
