A little more info for your viewers. I did 24/7 on my own. I started as a day guard but getting up 4:15 am and home by 7:30pm was too much. So I went and followed a spud rig, which pre-drills 5000' feet. Not fun, slept 2-5 hours a night. When drilling, I got sleep, no traffic. But the biggest part you missed was this; I adopted 2 stray dogs that were dumped. One a Lacy puppy, Tull and another found by the rig. She was painted black with wire around her neck. She cleaned up so well they named her Snow. She met Tull and they are BFF. I loved the experience but would never do 24/7 on my own. I earned $206/day with J&G. Good informative video. I did not have a sponsor and took the course in Wyoming. @ summers in Texas is enough. But I was around Gonzales, gorgeous. Dimples in Smiley, TX is amazing BBQ.

Roxy Foxy and Dr Pepper Show we are full-time RV and stop and work along the way. Right now we are working for a security company as gate guards. Basically a gate guard we signs in and out the traffic that enters the ranch that is heading to the oil rig. This serves several requirements. 1) the rancher wants to know who’s on their property 2) in case of an emergency the oil company needs to have a “muster list” and 3) it acts as a time card since many service tech get paid by the hour. Not every guard job is in the Garden of Eden! I gate guarded a ranch with two drilling rigs operating inside with no relief for 6 months in the Permian Basin. I was worn out from getting up all night long as water haulers came in and out the post 24/7. I was paid $50 a 24 hr. In the 90's it was not unusual to find a 30 yr old trailer setting at the gate with a make-shift water tank and the toilet was behind a bush yards away from the gate. Your face will sizzle as the 100 degree heat reflects off the white caliche road dirt. I hope you like dust. The freshly made roads are subject to degradation from the 18 wheelers causing baby powder dust to float in the air sifting through your trailer. Not to forget the frac caravans of 20 -30 trucks which arrive pre dawn, winter and summer, you have to crawl over and under the truck and super structure looking for dry mud missed by the high pressure weed washer. Don't forget the irate truck driver who tried to sneak in with out his rig being weed washed. He presented a receipt, but you discover it is fake. He then jumps down from his cab to whip your butt. You have to convince him to turn around which screws up the entire fracking job while they wait on this one truck. It does have sweet spots. Mid morning, mid afternoon, then sunset are pleasant because the traffic slowed greatly at these times, and you are out in nature. Presently as I drive around Midland Odessa I see some nice rigs with water and power generators. It looks like things are improving. If you are worth your salt, an oilfield worker will offer you the opportunity to kick his ass because you waisted his time with this silly weed wash inspection!

We were paid weekly, direct deposit. A few weeks were on a 1099, but most of the time we worked as an employee of the guard company and was paid on a traditional W-2 with taxes taken out. We also got paid vacation.
