@@fury_blade9303 Yes, once you beat the different routes enough times on a ng+ savefile, he's auto unlocked at the start of each pt.1. The amount of playthroughs needed to unlock him differes from 2-3 from what I've seen, but from what I can tell, the easiest way to get him is to beat 2 of the main routes, recruiting Byleth in at least 1 of those runs.

Fun fact: They added this map as a reference to Maddening mode in 3 houses. In both 3 houses chapter 1 and this paralogue, it's impossible to beat the mock battle without NG+ because of how stupidly strong your enemies are

well shez are merc and one of the few to survive against the "ashen demon" so except very few case like dimitri most student don't have the strength/vigor against someone that fight to death for a living + it was after shez got a part of arval power wich weren't here for most of shez life so yeah no surprise

Funny story: Just started Maddening for my final run, spent 2 days just beat this, went from around 90 to 102. Only reason i won was cause i baited Dimitri away. Apparently took nearly 900% of damage (Thank you awakening state). Previous run taught me hp didnt matter, they could one shot.

I manage with all three. I just lock on who I want to ko first. It's usually Claude since he's annoying to deal with his wind moves. Sometimes, I actually leave Edelgard as the past one but I usually leave Dimitri last due to him having the highest HP and strength.

I still find it strange that in this game, Caspar goes down the Brigand line of classes and has a unique special with an axe, and yet in the story, they take him down the war master line even though canonically, Caspar seems to fight with his fist more, and in this game he has gauntlets as part of his design

Not that surprising. They actually had a Triangle Attack mechanic in the first Fire Emblem Warriors, which you could do by surrounding an enemy with Caeda, Cordelia, and Hinoka. And if you do set up a Triangle Attack in Fire Emblem Warriors, you got an Award/Medal called the "Three Pegasus Sisters"

I think that canon Byleth strength and Byleth gameplay are two different things, chances are s/he could kick most of the main rosters asses pre-timeskip, same as Shez. It just wouldn't be very fun if you could send Byleth in to solo every map. Same way that Shez (Despite also being able to beat the vast majority of units pre-timeskip) likely doesn't literally kill thousands of foes in every single battle they're in single-handedly, despite Three Hopes gameplay. They're still incredibly tough and generally the second-strongest in the army, behind Byleth

The funny thing is after the mock battle that is a battle at the start of the academy years the classes got nerfed.

playing past levels with future higher level stats is always a weird concept. if ferd is already a great knight then why was he just a soldier when the time skip happens?

On one note, Shez really doesn't really want to battle everyone, they just want to return to the monastery. Second, Shez 's voice when she said 'over' shows how exasperated she is with how everyone wants a piece of her in the mock battle when she's not even not meant to be there. Third, Hilda trying to make excuses so she can take advantages of others. Fourth, Hubert mocking fun of Monica for the lolz by saying he's going to 'assist' from behind and that she can take cover whenever she needs it. Fifth, each House Lord's reaction to Shez man-handing them shows their view in combat. Dimitri is thrilled about fighting super tough opponents, Edelgard shows wariness and concern if the foe in particular is incredibly insane (she voiced concern that the alliance teamwork between them might not be enough and she was correct) and is particularly awed that Shez is just that blasted strong when this is them Pre-Time Skip and nowhere near as strong as their Post-Time Skip selves. Claude is happy to see how strong Shez is but quickly realizes that a head-on battle is a no-win for him. Unfortunately, the ''monster' behind you' he was referring to was Edelgard most likely meaning that one way or another, he was going to try to take out Shez or pragmatically take out Edelgard, much to Edelgard's annoyance.

Even if it were a scene where Shez was stuck fighting them both with Claude on one side and Edelgard on the other, it would still fit Claude's more pragmatic side that is shown in Three Hopes.

You have to beat the game two times and you’ll be able to unlock him with Renown on your third playthrough.

I surmise it might even have to be one normal, and one ng+ file each completed, and the new file needs to be ng+. Nobody really KNOWS the exact requirements past the basics of what’s been seen.

The best guess is you just need to recruit every other character. Which means, yes, you'll get him during your third route if you didn't miss anybody.

If by "Relic Weapon", you mean the sword she summons out of nowhere, she uses this in the Flügel and Asura classes. Unless you mean having it equipped, in which case you would be wielding it twice in the Flügel and Asura classes, which makes no sense.

There was one search node I found during my first playthrough, though I can't remember which chapter it was. I was asked to choose between a Rusted Sword and a different Rusted Weapon that they said was supposed to be something really special. I chose the sword and I got to repair it into Mercurius. I'm on Golden Wildfire, haven't finished it yet

there is also a Tome equivalent, you get them by reparing A rank Rusted Weapons or geting S rank in some missions, you can get more than one and they are not route exclusive, just by luck. I got 3-4 hauteclere and a gradivus in Scarlet Blaze

The gold sword Shez had equipped deals Magic damage. Mercedes has high Res. (Hence why Dedue went down fast)
