Good shit! Can I suggest using the Historical units and squads mod? I know it is good for extra immersion, as it adds different rank insignia and uniform customization alongside other goodies like better squad composition (USSR & Germany). Thanks

If you create a battle in editor is it possible to control models and units from both sides? I don't really use editor yet

Yes you can play as both sides with fn keys (it's the fn + 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 combination) I don't remember much but you can even make which sides are against which with a combination key.
