That was not a rescue, that was a left homeless. During this time all ready to go den sites are already taken. So she has to store them and try and find a suitable new space away from predictors. And if she is gone to long the babies may start to wander to look for her. Not all as cute as it appears.

this is wonderful! not only did mama not lose any babies - she gained one! and an orphan gained a family. you all do so much good - it's certainly appreciated and changed my views on animal control :)
@blessedbeauty22937 ай бұрын
- They aren't animal control. Animal control is *evil* .. these people are completely different. Don't ever trust animal control 😤 *PLEASE* ! I rescue stray cats, I know from experience in multiple cities && towns. They're all the same unfortunately. They do *not* care about animals. You may have one or two people who do, but that isn't enough to make any difference unfortunately. It is a sad situation. You can check out all my animals I've rescued on my channel as well! 😊❤ Bless you my friend.

- CTFU yeah, they definitely knew. Thankfully mama didn't have a clue. OR if *she did* , she didn't seem to mind because she is maternal && wasn't going to abandon the little one.

Had a 5 month old raccoon break in through the doggie door. I thought I had secured it but woke up with him in bed with me. He was obviously someone’s pet they released. Had to fight the first wildlife rescue group that came out to not euthanize him. Thankfully I found another group that is teaching him to be a wild raccoon.

Cassandra is my hero[ine]! I am an old, now, and the Internet did not exist when I was a child, teen, or young-ish adult. I would never have known about her. I would never have imagined myself in a career like this, but it would have been perfect for me. I LOVE animals, and respect and work to preserve wildlife. I am artistic, and strong-construction and even destruction work takes skill. Had I known of women like Cassandra when I was young…who knows? This is a real-life Wonderwoman!

- Can you link the video from the previous job where the mother left that one baby behind? I thought they always go back to double check if they got them all. 😕 How did this one slip threw the cracks? 🥺😭
@beautifulsurprise94243 ай бұрын
Was it that or did the previous mother only have one baby that she never came back for because something possibly happened to her while she was away from the attic? There is another set of videos on this channel from about a year ago where they removed some raccons from someone's window well and put them in one of their baby boxes and when they came back two days later to get their baby box back the baby raccoons were still in it so they figured she may have been hit by a car or otherwise killed some way so they gave her babies to the raccoon mother from the next job. It was a two part set of videos. That's why I was asking. I wasn't sure if they already mentioned in this video that the scenario you described happened and perhaps I missed it in the video.

Why don't you leave food for the mother, so she has some energy to move her babies to a new location without getting hungry from the ordeal? Plus she needs some food to make milk for all those baby racoons.

One of her original babies nipped at the surrogate baby. Could it tell that the surrogate baby wasn't it's real sibling? Does the mother realize that wasn't her own baby but she just accepted raising it? Does the surrogate baby know that that's not it's real mother? Just questions I had. They may be dumb questions but I have no idea and I was always told to ask when I don't know something so if anyone knows the answers please let me know. Thanks!
