Great video as always and the pink dye on your set is FIRE. I did notice something on the teamcraft high end build that people should be aware of because I almost wasted a bunch of materia lol. On the golves, the build has the last 2 slots as Guile XIs (Perception +20). After the 4th slot meld, Perception is capped out and you actually end up losing 3 points for +17. Slotting in another Perception +20 is useless and a huge waste of money. I ended up putting another Gathering +20 for my last slot

I can't log in to game to verify, but just checking out the teamcraft link for the meld setup it says I'm not capped out on perception for the gloves... According to this, I've got 13 more perception until cap. Did you slot 3 XII Gatherings in your first 3 slots? I'll have to double check when I'm able to log in though.

One thing to add for the budget build is that super low level materia has a higher chance of overmelding. I think the final slot has like a 16% chance instead of the 5% on high lvl materia.

Is having an older set of crafter pentamelded gear still needed for spirit bonding? I don’t recall any mention of there being a change to this. Might be a good video topic.

I am super confused by this advice, i have worn a pentamelded 690 gathering piece and a pantamelded 720 piece side by side hitting the same node and can 100% confirm the 690 spirit bonds MUCH faster than the 720?? Even asking around people on my server they all said this was the way it is/always has been? Did i miss something?

How much materia do you recommend stockpiling before going for a pentameld attempt? Im sitting arpund 70 of each tier 11 and 30-45 of each tier 12 and im anxious to start

If you check out the melding page on teamcraft, it gives you a list of "approximately" how many you need. Overall though, 70-100 of the XIs and around 50 of the XIIs is usually enough unless you get a little unlucky!

I notice your TeamCraft gathering alarms don’t have orange script nodes.. is it possible you can make a new set of alarms to include the orange script timers?

Update: This change does not apply to crafting gear. It will be better to keep your 690 gear for spiritbonding! The 720 gear definitely spiritbonds slower.

u think its worth it to switch from 7.0 penta melded gatherer gear (690)to 7.1 penta melded gear(720) or should i wait for 7.2 before i get newer gatherer gear ;)

690 pentamelded shouldn't be that much worse than 720 pentamelded, and personally even despite that, I'd rather wait for 7.2 before gambling my materia again xD

That will depend on your goals! There is no new crafted rafting/gathering gear coming out until 7.3. 7.2 will have new Scrip gear though. If you want to be able to gather the new items in 7.2, there is a decent chance you may need this current gear before then, but we won't know for certain what stats we need until 7.2 is here. For me, I like to be prepared and ready to go for a patch, and my recommendation is to slowly build out this current gear before 7.2. You have months to do so, no hurry! “Just make sure you have enough to stock up” Mfer this is pentamelding, I fail to meld 90 materia on the reg, ain’t no way I’m throwing away hours of spiritbonding just to not even be pentamelded anymore and have to buy more or just have worse spiritbonding 😭 “Just stock up 999 materia and pray to RNGesus to not fuck you” is crazy Craft two sets, one pentamelded for spiritbond and the other one being the gear you want to slot the materia into.

I'm a little confused? I'm recommending you use very cheap materia for that strategy. You can buy Piety V materia on my server right now for around 100 gil each. Even if you have to buy 999 of it, which would be an insane amount to need, it's less than 100k gil. An entire additional set of gear for just the Everkeepers is worth over 2 million gil...

​@@TenelenTheScrub But then you unpentameld it to slot your proper melds, and if RNGesus spites you (as is his wont) you could lose all your stocked up materia you got from spiritbonding, and now the set is not pentamelded anymore. The "999 spiritbonded materia" being lost to pentamelded was just hyperbole. What I mean is that after spiritbonding to build up a stock of like materia XI, even if you stock up anywhere from 30-80, you could end up removing a materia from your set because you think 'surely thats enough to get the pentameld', and then losing it all to RNG which leaves you with not just the wasted time getting that stock up from spiritbonding, but also now you have to go buy more lower level materia or eat a slower spiritbond speed. I'm not saying to *buy* a set of everkeepers, just *craft* two sets. Or use the previous gatherer gear as your 'spiritbond' gear and leave the everkeep in your inventory to meld the proper melds to. That way you're never losing the pentameld on your spiritbond set while slotting melds into your proper-meld set, and you don't waste a few extra hours stocking up a bunch of spiritbond materia, getting lucky with RNGesus, and now having a fat stack that you didn't need to spend all that time stocking up on after all. And then when you're done, you can desynth/sell/do whatever with the spiritbonding set and its materia.
