Yes sir you are 100% correct. Those triangle wedge shims should be the other way to tilt your pinion up so you don't have extreme angle to prevent vibration and possibility of snapping the drive shaft or a yoke

I was just thinking about that again today. When I work on the axle I guess I will need to fix this also

I would just look for the trail tough bracket, it would be a pain to build lol

I actually just cut and drilled a piece of plate steel and moved the pump up. Will be a video eventually on it.
