when it comes to Pokémon rivals, the Scarlet and Violet rivals are the best we’ve had in years. Their so to love about all three of them and I think game freak really put a lot of emphasis on trying to make them likable and relatable because their such a big part of the games story.

@@lightyoshiman ah i kinda forget penny and arven aren’t technically your “rivals” per say just other trainers who fight you at some point who are part of the main story. I guess a rival has to fight you more then once but i mean whos really keeping track of these things 🤷‍♀️

@@Paradoxe_0 there's the secret bases that you can only put statues in which is really lame, and apparently they didn't keep the villa from platinum in so we don't have that either. So I think the last ones I can remember were HGSS where you can decorate your bedroom.

@@MrDeathBunny HGSS did not have that. You might have been thinking of GSC, or DPPt. The last game where you could decorate a room besides BDSP was ORAS, where you could use the move Secret Power to create secret bases that you could decorate with all kinds of things.

Although there's not much benefit to doing the classes (besides some fly-points, about 4 batches of 50 tera crystals and a mug that costs a sweet herb) I think the academy was a fun place to visit when I was bored. I like how in Dendra's class your lead Pokemon will be in the lesson, I wonder if Arevn brings Mabosstiff or not if you have yet to complete path of legends and do the lessons.

I'm kinda sad that we didn't get this super boss Nemona battle and instead got the trademark Pokemon black screen. To me while I very much enjoyed our last battle, her using her team that she made for her second go around of the gyms gave me the slightest feeling she was still somewhat holding back.

When I think about it, Nemona's life is actually a bit sad: no one wants to be her friend or battle her because she's too good at what she does, to the point others just give up and do not even hang out with her.

And now we know why she was so desperate to restart herself, nurture us to grow and became upset if we refused to be her rival - she wanted not just a rival she could finally stand equal with on a ground where both are strong enough to push each other to become better instead of needing to hold back, she wanted a friend who would stay no matter how much she continued to strive forward.

The gang is what I call the MC and the rivals, really are fun when being together. Nemona is like that over-energetic girl, Penny is the smart one, and Arven talks to you like your his bestie forever. It really shows anime vibes (I love Arven, he calls me “bud”, “champ” and more🤗)

The more you think about nemona you see she is crazy. Ditched her champion Pokémon team and start from nothing. She convinced clavell another starter Pokémon. Turn the player into a rival or sparring partner and it's forced by the end of victory road not allowing to say no.
