One of the most intelligent movies I have ever seen in my life. Especially the world building with all the little details regarding mentality is absolutely flawless. For example I like how no one in Gattaca seems to be able any more to recognize people by a photograph - simply because all the face are more of less the same (perfect and emotionless), and all that matters anyway is the genetic code.

His first film and he wrote and directed a masterpiece. Andrew Niccol, what a genius! This has always been one of my favourite films, such an inspiring story!

I wonder if the mission director at least suspected "Jerome" of being an in-valid, but judged him by merit as being worthy of going up. He appears to believe in the system, but doesn't treat it as infallible. "Occasionally we've been forced to accept candidates with minor shortcomings." "No one exceeds his potential... [if so] we did not accurately gauge his potential in the first place."

Given the situations that we have seen in many dystopian futures and how some people think the world will be. Gattaca is not really that bad.

Doesn't look so. We're heading to the maximum stupidity. People with their faces stuck on their smartphones' screens, eating shit, watching shit... At least in Gattaca they have excellence.

As experienced as Alan Arkin is in the film, he’s wrong about every idea he has for the case. The main detective is a cover up artist but ultimately had the right ideas on how to solve the case either way.
