I also loved the castle stage. can't test areas 5-6-7 because apparently the plague and yeti are underground and neither us or the boss interact to each other. EDIT: dragon and chimaera are overground but all else applies,

Honestly, the N64 version's saving grace was the soundtrack itself. Not to mention repeating plays of levels increased the difficulty to astronomic levels. Trying doing a 4P spawn of Town Graveyard and see how long THAT takes.

for real. I always loved playing with max difficulty and returning periodically to every level, just to see how much they could up the difficulty. the answer: a lot! its surprising just how far the game can scale. even newer rpg's have issues getting this right.

Bro, the Graveyard was the hardest level in game. I was always afraid of playing it as a kid. Lol I remember that one time when we tried 3 playering that level and... we didn't beat it. I love this game. :')

N64 also allows to save and sell items too, so there's that. Dreamcast is close to the arcade and has the Dark Legacy characters. As for PS1, it's too bloody easy!

Either this one or the Ice Camp track is my favorite. Can't decide. This one has more of a brave, marching to battle feel to it whereas the Ice Camp is more of an ambient, adventure-esque track. Apples and oranges, but both are so good.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Gauntlet needs to come back, to show the younger generation of gamers what multiplayer is really all about. I'll take Gauntlet Legends and Dark Legacy over Call of Duty and Halo any day.

I didn't like Dark Legacy since it was for the most part the exact same game but with more levels characters that grew bigger as they gained levels (which made it hard to see what you were doing when all four people were playing at once) but I loved the N64 version to death. All the hours my uncles and family and me sunk into it playing together was well-worth the $40 dollars spent on it.

Joshua Workman Too bad the Gauntlet for Steam was such a crap game. They tried, but failed at combining the Original Gauntlet with Gauntlet Legends. Then they got rid of the level up system, and instead added in the Perk system. Yay, Gauntlet of Duty. No thanks.

My favorite theme from the entire game. I miss the halcyon days of playing Gauntlet Legends with the family and friends. We even had competitions where the one who gathered the least amount of gold or killed the least amount of spawns would hand over the controller and we'd rotate every level.

The Castle Stronghold had the best music for it's levels in both Gauntlet Legends and Dark Legacy! This remands my all time favorite level song. The Dungeon of Torment in Dark Legacy is a close second!

I believe you refer to IRL lore, which is where a lot of fantasy lore comes from. However, this is a video game that does not follow along with real life. If the author wishes to redefine certain aspects of fantasy, then he or she can choose to for their specific story. BTW, the "guns" associated with the archer are similar to repeater crossbows. The original archer from the first game did, in fact, use a bow.

Actually I'm referring to R.L. and not its lore. If I was referring to r.l. lore I would'v said something completely different due to cultural confusion because those yellow skinned "europeans" don't know how to define classes. Aryans, like myself, on the other hand can. I hav classified every single class combination from the warrior to the jeomancer. However, since you know some Gauntlet Lore (quite a bit) I'll make a little correction. Sorcorers: Light, Frost (water+wind), and Fire majik.

Here's 1 of the flaws of the Gauntlet series, they do not correctly portray the lore of the classes Mage: Mind majik, Frost majik, Fire majik [from nature]. Sorcorer: Healing Light majik [non-lightning light majik to heal], Fire majik [from light, like lasers], and Frost majik. [Basically mage but dropping the Mind majik for healing light majik] Archer: Should say marksmen if it's "I use guns AND an epic bow" as weapons. Paladin and Valkrie: Same thing, just 1 is male and the other is female.

MIDWAY was going to release Gauntlet Legends on the Nintendo DS, but plans changed and I believe a G.I. Joe became that game that was supposed to be a new Gauntlet Legends game.
