Let me add, the DG2’s sound amazing with a great soundstage but I believe the DPP’s take it up a notch overall! There’s a section in the Back to the Future theme at the 1:44 mark where the Bass and Cello’s are gliding on their low strings where you are supposed to hear the build accompanied by the other stringed instruments with the expressive spurts of the horns creating intensity, where the DG2’s can’t quite capture with the level of effectiveness and excitement precision that the DPP’s accomplish! This makes the DPP’s better, while the DG2’s may give you more top end sizzle, some things may be too bright and harsh! Just listen to it in a better location with more controlled echoes in the room, then you’ll get it.

The Gemini II has an impressive sound, but not a natural one. Denon has natural. In addition, Gemini II has unpleasant peaks. I liked the Denon better.

I to disagree with you Ron my dude, though I like the sound of the Gemini 2’s, the Denon’s are just a step above in a few area’s when it comes to the overall, including the sound! I tried to hear you out but as an audiophile guy, I hear the sizzle that you hear and like on the top end of the DG2’s, that sizzle on the DPP’s is smoother and melted together with the blending of the overall sound and the low end can really be adjusted to your liking, at infinite point on the immerse fader it’s very accurate but with adjustments to rising the level it’s like you get surrounded by the sound and it really gives you the sense of space “Spatial Audio” with the soundstage. Now out of the box the DG2’s would win no doubt but after the AAT does it’s measurements, man, it’s like 2 different sets of earbuds. Let me put it this way, though out of the box the DPP’s still have that DTS 7.1 type sound, the AAT turns it into Dolby Atmos 9.2.4 which is the true definition of Spatial Audio! I listened to a few songs, some with a Beat, some without a beat, with just music and vocals, some orchestral like John Williams & London Symphony Orchestra from Superman Movies and Home Alone. Or Cincinnati Pops Orchestra with Back to the Future theme song, it’s crazy how much definition you hear when it’s not over shadowed by the beat. Also I think the Denon’s open up more pass the point that place your volume, maybe it’s just my Semi-Audiophile ears. But listen to how the strings and horns connect in the Back to the future them with the DPP’s, I think they might separate too much in the sizzle of the DG2’s because you don’t get the depth of what low end bass is suppose to create! But I guess folks are going to say it’s subjective, I do think that may be a cop out, if you really listen without talking and in a relaxed place with your eyes closed, you will hear it, not laying down but in a seated position. Good luck, oh and the battery makes another problem for the DG2’s, I’m just saying.

Hmm, are the Deviale Gemini 2s really worth it? I'm looking for the best, of the best, of the best headphones after three broken pairs of Sennheiser Momentum TWS 3, a Sony WF-1000XM4 and a 5. Unfortunately, I don't have AptX Adaptive and above, as I'm currently using Pixel 6. What's important to me is the best possible sound, wireless charging, ANC and decent microphones as I'm using earphones on the train. Nothing else matters. For now, I'm looking at the Denon PerL PRO, Deviale Gemini 2, Master & Dynamic MW09, Technics EAH-AZ80s and Jabra Elite 10. Of these, I'm most curious to see how the Jabras actually sound. Is it as bad as it was in the previous headphones or is there a definite upgrade? What would you recommend to me if I don't have AptX Adaptive for now?

In your case, I would recommend the Status Between 3ANC. They don't support aptX but the tuning on the triple drivers make them sound amazing.

@@hemalvyas9193 ahh honestly?!?! It's hard to say, because EX are my favorite one. BUT honestly, i must admit that the gemini 2 sound clearer, voices are way more clearer and in front. I have the feeling that the singer is in my head and each instruments are far from my shoulder. Soundstage is better with the gemini 2. Bass is similar on both. Beoplay ex have a terrible fit. If you listen music at home it's ok, but at the gym, i must replaced them oftenly. I don't like the fit. But with the gemini 2 the fit is excellent. I am at the gym right now and the fit is excellent !!!! I dont know where you are, but here in Quebec city (canada), the EX cost me 600$ (taxes included). The gemini 2 cost me 745$ (taxes included). Is the extra 145$ worth it? Oh Yeahh !!! But it's up to you. I dont know your budget. If you have the money and you are willing to spend this amount of money, man, you will be blown away by the gemini 2. I have over 50 earbuds and over 30 headphones (yeah it's my passion like Ron), and to be sincere, there are two earbuds and headphones that impressed me the most: gemini 2 and Focal Bathys (over the ear). To be honest, the gemini 2 sound better than my focal. So, yeah, if you are looking for gemini 2, take my word, they are the best of the best on the market. If you want a budget earbuds, you can go with the Status audio between 3 anc. For the money, they are hard to beat. The sound is so hot!!! For 300$ they are unbeatable. Just to give you an idea on how gemini 2 sound good, here is what i think. I have some iems at home. I bought the 7hz timeless ae (wired), with a dragonfly dac dungle(it cost me 800$). If i compare the two, they are neck to neck for sound quality and details. But man, the bass on the gemini is wayyy more powerful!!! So i prefer thr gemini and they are bluetooth 😄 I hope this help :) Oh by the way i speak french so sorry for bad english :)

But with hiphop songs and some other music I liked the sound of Bose better. Gemini 2 does have a very crisp sound with most music. But bose sounds more balanced and natural imo. Also with Gemini the battery of the earbuds don't fully load to 100% which is annoying. And they empty quite quickly.

your profile on the Denon was almost a perfect circle, your ears have very little weakness compared to mine that has lumps and bumps on the display I end up with a great sound though and that's what it's all about, I love my Denons I used to have a set of Nuratrue but dropped and broke them, happy that I could replace them with the Denon

Don't buy Sony at any cost... Their build quality is simply bad. And their support is the worst I've ever seen... Had to fight with them for over 3 months to replace my obviously broken unit. Never Sony again. Besides they have a lot of small issues that I can list you if you want.

@@ronontech I personally had several problems with the connection on my devices. dropping connection, always using the lowest possible sound quality on LDAC, multipoint connection not working/freezing. Also no LC3 on non-Sony devices and huge problems on them. Sony app is very unstable, crashes, freezes, and software on earbuds can cause ANC to not work at all (ANC is a popular topic on Reddit). The buds often don't recognise that they're in the case, and will continue to play and not charge (also a popular issue on Reddit). Strange background noise such as clicking or white noise on one of the earbuds. Cases that wear off really quickly (the black mat after a while starts to shine). Loose thin plastic lid. Foam tips that break after two weeks of use. Pseudo-piano black buds that cause difficulties when taking them out of the case (sounds stupid, but it's really annoying in some situations). On top of this, the microphones in my unit broke after less than a month. Support that falsified the repair reports. Long repairs, once I waited a month for a reply from them. Gives the worst experience I have ever had. Luckily for me they broke the law and I had the Consumer Ombudsman on my side to help me. Without the ombudsman they would have completely ignored my messages and calls... So after three months of waiting and fighting I got my money back. And just so it's not just me, I had similar problems with the Sennheiser Momentum TWS 3 and they replaced my buds within 4 days. And I also really liked my XM4 unit until the Sony updated and fried the battery.

I had good support and the build quality is holding up for my XM4s, trust me I dropped them more than I am proud of and I bought them on release. I did have some random temporary Bluetooth issues and volume issues though but they still sound good. Even left them in a hot car and briefly dropped them in water. Anyway I was having serious battery drain issues so I contacted Sony and after going through some steps Sony was willing to refund me the whole price, nearly $300 US! So now I'm browsing again for a new pair of earbuds/headphones. I started looking at the XM5 but I'm still deciding. I'm really liking this channel.

Following the exciting gauntlet series is like Game of throne for earbuds. Coming back from the 2023 top 5 to the finale, I realized the finale were between two 10mm Titanium dynamic driver, and only one candidate with BA driver enter (the Status Between ANC) and two (Noble, A&K) in the honorable mention. I don't think that is a coincident. What your list interpret to me is, the implementation of BA in TWS earbuds is still some challenge ahead, in term of amp power, positions, etc. unlike the already mature application on the IEM. But while almost all the brands are rush into mix the BA to their configuration, the day a single dynamic driver reign may be ending soon. I have all the combination, Free Byrd, Perl Pro, Liberty 3 pro and 4, Status Between pro, Jlab Epic lab, MTW3, and I can't agree with you more, the best of them are still the single dynamic driver buds, except the surprising balance and wide sound stage from Status Between. The Jlab epic lab is nice for their first attempt, but still long way to be refined.

Like clockwork, I pick a pair based on call/mic quality and you pick the opposite. I talk on the phone a lot and the mic quality is just as important as sound quality. I got the Az-80s after watching your review. Might try the perl pro next. Keep on doing what you do brother

I wasnt a fan of the pp2, they have a very dynamic sound and it is tailored to my personal hearing... but something still lacks. It just doesnt sound very real to me. I even did the soundID app instead of the perl's sound test and it just was significantly more underwhelming compared to the ex. I havent heard the gemini 2, but im not paying 500 bucks for tech that will become obsolete in 2 to 3 years. Ill take the battery life of the mw09 because even if it degrades, whats the worst you'll get in 3 years, 8hrs of battery life?? 😂

I purchased both from a company in my country with good return policy ANC on Denon was non existent for me - I did not want to believe it Gemini 2 is similar to Airpods2 pro - I instantly felt it While for Denon, anc walking outside next to cars or next to a fan or steam sweeper was hardly anything - when transparency was one it was the same just a different artifical sound I did not want to believe its so crap, I really wanted to like the Denon I am confused as everybody sais ANC is so good for Denon Gemini 2 is zero occlusion, very good anc, nice sound. I do get windnoise. Funny that you experienced no windnoise and consider anc mediocore My issue with g2 now is connecting from laptop to phone. For example I was unalbe to accept a call on phone when I was in a teams meeting on the laptop, but I will need to test more Thanks for your work

I prefer foam tips over silicone all day, so I’m using the foam tips and the ANC is great, like my former Sennheiser TW3’s but the Denon’s may be better. I’m also using the larger winged clips with the foams. I have both the Devialet G2’s and the Denon PP’s and I’m returning the G2’s, because they also are not comfortable, it seems too close in my ear but the tip area is not long enough to seal for the ANC on the G2’s!

Yes I have been trying out Crazy how different these products feel for differrent people Not easy to rely on reviews for earbuds , really need to see for yourself So you consider the Denon’s ANC to Mom3? Did you bave any chance to compare to like ap2, xm5, az80? Best!

@@istvanfodor8704 don’t know if you’re speaking to me or Ron, but I compared the SennMTW3’s to the Sony’s and I preferred the Senn’s regarding sound and thought they were close to the Sony’s regarding the ANC even if Sony was better (ANC) but the sound of the Senn’s were top tier for my taste! Now the Denon Perl Pro are on another level with Sound and The DG2’s were next on the list!

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a great experience with the PerL Pros. Did you try other eartips with them? I swapped the stock ones with a pair of SpinFits and they improved there anc and sound quality. Wind Noise reduction and ANC are different. I have earbuds and headphones that have good ANC but the WNR isn't that great. As for your connection issue with the G2s, are you still having that issue? Have you tried resetting them? Sorry for the late response.

I just got the Devialet and they suck compared to Denon, not even close. They just have bass. The sound stage is even worse than sennheiser mtw3-4. Spatial audio non existent. They don't fit well in the ears and the sound is not clear (maybe same level as the sony xm5). Finally from 60% volume there is a lot of distortion especially in high frequency. Def not worth the price. I would pay 200$ for Devialet not more. I even thought I got a defective model but I will not give them a second chance. So my top 5 is Denon Perl Pro >> Sennheiser mtw4 >> xm5 > devialet gemini 2 >> Bose qc ultra I listened to all kind of music when I tested them : Trap, US Rap, Electronic/Dubstep for (sub) bass and vocals and Classical music for instrument separation and sound stage. And I use apple music lossless for test with the highest aptx codec
