A few things to note: I probably should have made the power strengths the same in both builds, but I needed the extra duration on Gauss to maintain Mach Rush long enough to last the duration of the race. The reason Volt starts first is because it takes time to accelerate to its top running speed, unlike Gauss who achieves top speed instantly upon activation of Mach Rush. The idea was that I'd measure which frame was faster _at its top speed,_ or to be more specific, the top speeds that I personally could get out of them at the time I recorded this. @dood mandood yes but we’re not talking about mere speed. in missions, gauss has more viability since his entire build is centered around speed synergy. most missions also have tight corridors, and gauss is able to reach his max speed in small bursts. gauss’ 1st ability can also be treated as an attack rather than pure mobility, but i don’t think any of the other frames can say the same

Former Rhino main... I played both, but in races on Rhino against Nezha I always TOASTED the Nezha. Also, my solo speedruns were faster on Rhino; purely for control. Granted, on Eidolon there was no contest - but in the Void or Derelict, Rhino can consistently outperform a lot of other frames (or at least used to be able to when I played) due to mobility potential paired with precision. x/

Let's agree to disagree but I haven't had a volt best me yet in any speed challenge maybe if I gave them a head start but I main gauss on all sorts of missions and I have speed volts run with me all the time for competition 313% power strength is most speed volts and I dont get lapped or overtaken if you main volt and lap gausses then thier not built for max speed I rarely use mach rush so its not a relative speed its actual speed volts only chance is longevity over burst he builds speed over time as long as he doesnt slow down

It's like cars basically. Take a supercharger (Gauss) vs a Turbocharger (Volt). A Supercharger offers instant boost whilst the turbocharger takes time for it to charge or "Spool up" . Long story short, Long distance Volt wins but short distance Gauss wins. Volt by far is the fastest, even though my favorite is Gauss.

Damn both of them was slow 2.82 base sprint speed with infested mobility bare minimum setup would leave pour bolt flapping in the wind 60% sprint speed for 21 seconds on top of 2.82 start at the same time without mach rush would make any volt struggle throw in mach rush and kiss volt good bye and if you dont want to have motion sickness drop infested mobility for firewalker so volt doesnt get lost what I just witnessed was a volt biased setup versus a barely there gauss I'm not hating but I think to do a fair trail with min maxed speed builds

If I didn't slide, I'd be flying off the slopes and getting thrown into hard landings. If anything, sliding is slower than rolling, which would be the only alternative to avoid the hard landings. It's really no different than when Gauss goes flying but doesn't hard land because Mach Rush prevents that. Also, you can clearly see that Gauss starts at full speed on the very video frame at which both Gauss and Volt are exactly 500m away from the waypoint. The point was to compare their max speeds against each other, not their accelerations.

This goes for any sort of speed test doesnt matter if their top speeds faster or the acceleration is faster. You always start them together because either way it makes no sense. SPEED is not just final calculated speed it's the start, middle and end. Just saying ;). Its like Usain bolt running 27mph for the world record he only reached it for a split second. The same rule applies. I understand if u wanna calculate top end but even then that's the wrong way to do it.

@@Lonzology I'm effectively testing the top speed of two cars, or machines here, so acceleration is a factor I sought to eliminate. The final number that mattered to me wasn't the time they finished the race, but the m/s they achieved. Warframes aren't humans like Usain Bolt and thus theoretically could maintain top speed indefinitely by popping energy plates along the way.

With a max speed volt, volt is faster than gauss, HOWEVER, volts ability speed gives a speed boost to everyone on the squad including gauss. And when gauss gets a volt speed buff he is faster than volt as displayed in this video. You may see were I am going with this. Volt is a highly played character, therefore you have a good chance as a gauss main to get a volt on your team. I'd say you might get a volt on your team 40-60% of the time, so 40-60% of the the time on most missions gauss is faster than volt. If that makes any sense to you guys.

Not if volt has minimum range haha I play mini range volt max power strength and duration and I go zoom zoom in just to reach extract first cause we all know it’s a race after the main mission ends .

I think these tests done are fans of Volts I don’t lose to a Volts I think they would make a Warframe with speed skills to be slower want a Volts I’ve already tested it with my friends, my volts none of them won and yes they have peace in speed .

yeah power strenghts and all that plus gauss missing his gauss mach boost when hes already in his rush hands down would have wiped the floor with volt

Well I’ve played warframe for ages and I really hoped guass was faster than volt but after building both them to the maximum guass max speed is 14% speed of sound while volt is 24% which was upsetting to me cause I had volt that fast and when I saw guass I was like yes I can finally go faster and I’m talking about by themselves so don’t say “oh well guass is faster cause the randoms ima play with will totally boost my speed” cause that’s just irrational also before you say guass is more useful that actually isn’t the case anymore do to the change abilities so now you can have a volt that is faster than guass and still be viable and tanky through endgame missions I actually have a speed build I use all the time cause how mobile volt is compared to guass so reguardless of the answer from this video these are the actual facts and you really can’t disagree cause I put a ton of platinum and forma in both builds got every single mod to make them as fast as possible and did probably over 100+ tests carefully checking their speeds compared to speed of sound and after all the testing possible volt is just way faster

Good to know I haven't played in ages and dont have a Gauss But Gauss seems to also increase FOV a whole lot more than volt making Gauss seem faster

So gauss has acceleration fit for short race but volt has top speed fits for long race. Volt also better at turn and cornering. But let's be real most mission you don't have enough space to build that top speed. So i think gauss speed still more practical.
