I am from Chennai. Trust me GG is a good supporter of Ash. But selection committee played a crucial role in selecting playing 11 which failed to utilise him in Test cricket . Once a Legend always a Legend. Ash well played

I dont think it was a case of utilising him in test. At home he was picked on a regular basis, many felt his record outside of the subcontinent wasnt great but kumble record outside of india wasn't great till around 2002 2003 when when he had good tours of England, australia, pakistan. So I'm sure had they continued with him he would have been good enough to work out how to bowl in foreign conditions.

Sad story in Indian cricket. He deserves grand farewell being one of the all time greats. Also I totally understand why he was left out in a few games. Team management wanted to try the best possible bowling combination and Ashwin did not fit in the scheme of things. I also understand that batters are given more chances than bowlers . Virat and Rohit don’t deserve to be in the team given today’s form.
