I personally don't like the mechanics of the gag, but I did find this very interesting since this is actually coming from someone who is obviously very experienced. Hard to find educated and experienced horsepersons on youtube these days. It's nice to see demos on live horses as well and the possible complications created by poor bitting. Thank you for existing.

ok so horse is putting it's toung over the bit because of pain, the mouth piece prevents the horse from getting it's tounge over the bit. but then doesn't this just prevent the horse from evading pain instead of addressing the real problem, the horse is in pain. I don't understand why one would want to gag a horse and have the bit against the teeth.

My horse is getting his tongue over the bit. This is a new behavior and now doesn’t want any kind of bit in his mouth. He’s just been floated by an equine dentist, but he’s no better, so disappointed ☹️
