I felt the lead actor playing the victim was an amazing performance, I don't cry easy yet this brought tears down my face, my cat looked at me as if to say "whats wrong", very well done for this very sensitive subject that is so difficult to talk about as a victim and maybe more so for a young man who has not yet come to terms with himself, that is what made me cry, so cruel and spiteful. The predator showed no mercy on his victim, like an animal taking down his prey having 'stalked' it until it was in its grip, heartbreaking to see this so well shown on film. Credit to all concerned for making this film. namaste

Thank you for this movie. I was raped as a gay man twice once they use GHB and once while I was in the military. This movie was very hard for me to watch, but it is important that this story be told. Thank you again for making this movie.

Being gay is NOT about sex ... we all need to learn that true fact. It's about connection, and it manifests itself in sexual ways ... just as being heterosexual does! It begins with attraction which is totally out of our purposeful control ... it's a brain function. No human nor animal chooses their sexual attraction nor draw to connection.

I know I was sexually assaulted by clergy since I was 4 years old until I turned 15, but I had started taking martial arts and fought back. My last abuser lost both his testicles because I kicked him repeatedly there. Although I was only in my second year & a yellow belt.

This film was gripping and painful to watch. The film was so effective because of the great production value, script and exceptional acting. Very few films have drawn me in and affected me so much.

As psychiatric social worker who has worked specifically in LGBTQ mental health; the subject of this film is an extremely under-reported crime. Certainly not a fun movie to watch, but one that is crucial to telling a story that is all too common.

Awesome awareness movie. I was drugged and raped in Austin, Tx. I woke up and couldn't do anything. He kept shoving poppers under my nose. I don't know how long it happened just that I was able to phone a friend who came and rescued me. And I'm not a little guy. 6'1", around 165# at the time. It can happen to anyone.

I think he should tell his family if nothing else so some of the leverage is removed from the situation. Also it's hard to get the support from your family if you can't tell them what happened. It was not consensual it was rape and it should be treated as such

Yes, realistic ending. The implication is that, like in reality, even though her stood up to the rapist, he will require more TIME to overcome the pain.

can you imagine being raped (not actually knowing what was happening to at age 5 ) and nothing done about it even though it was reported. I can see that man in my minds eye as if it was yesterday, but it was 68 years ago.

Ce jeune homme se fait violer par un camarade de classe qu il connaît depuis l enfance, peut être est il amoureux de James mais ne veut pas passer à l acte James lui est clairement un prédateur puisqu il le met en confiance en disant qu il a un matelas et le viole ensuite il le menace psychologiquement pour arriver à ses fins mais à la fin Sean se défend avoue son homosexualité mais restera traumatisé de ce viol qui est sûrement sa première relation sexuelle, mais il est vrai que dans la séquence du viol il pourrait se défendre un peu mieux sauf si il a été drogué mais je ne pense pas où alors la peur de se défendre

Yes, I was just coming here to say the same. It is the same story, the same names, many of the scenes and dialogues are exactly the same… everything but the end. To me this one is much better film, better directed and casted, better acted and photographed…

It is the same script but nothing like as well done and with a very negative line in it, no redemption for either characters as in the other adaptation. Half the film taken up with pointless scenes, not impressed. This is such an important subject, I was raped by my then boyfriend, and it leaves scares.

All American Boy - Description on youtube: Inspired by a short film “Sunday Morning” by Matthew Allen.. But I liked All American Boy more, generally, and because Christopher Brian (main character) is my favorite actor. Surely, it's easy to iterate up, make better from what there is already, and I guess with larger budget.

How can a guy be so stupid to let be raped and abused like that? It makes no sense. All he had to do is turn off his phone and tell your parents. I had a guy get obsessed with me, I just told my parents I did not want have anything to do with him and they respected me. Twice that happen and I made sure in both cases I told the guys I was not interested and leave me alone or else. No drama needed.

Be careful to not blame the victim. In this case, like many in reality, homophobia and machismo are factors that add to the shame around males getting sexually assaulted by other males. Females, who of course are still more frequent victims of sex crime, are traditionally made to feel that they somehow "asked for it". Explaining that it is, for at least some people like yourself, easy to avoid in fact does not make the situation any easier to grapple with. I sense you mean well, by way of your words, but COMPASSION and SUPPORT is what is necessary.

The boy is so anxious about being outed that the shortest way to escape this fear is to submit. This is absolutely no stupidity, this is how any young gay would cope with the pressure of our mainly homophobic society. Outing someone is a psychological weapon and any sexual assaillant knows how to use it. The film shows this pretty well, though.

We in the West know better, but in most countries the criminals can easily blackmail their victims, because ousting can have terrible outcomes, like disowning by parent, excluding from society, stigma and jail. This movie might not say much to white males, but many others have access to youtube and it's very precious to warn vulnerable people and educate them that sexual abuse is unacceptable and forgiveness will just encourage for more.
