Gabriel & Dylan, thanks so very much for your thoughtful post. When my husband got full custody of the children from his first marriage they were just one and two and half years years old. I must tell you both that I was scared out of my mind as we had just started out on our journey together. We have been together 13 years and married for two. Tell your dear son that "coming out" about his parents gets better. Our boys are now in high school and their only complaint is that having two dads does not allow them to get away with much. All that we can say to you both is what my father said as our wedding toast. "May your children and your children's children rise up and call you blessed.

I was raised in a Catholic faith. I was always told if I wasn't against gay families I'd go to hell. I have since opened my heart. I still love God and he loves me. It says believe in Jesus and be saved. I won't try to please a religion that promotes any kind of hate. I have opened my heart to gay families and God still loves me.

I seriously wonder why people criticize men couples, adoption and such. I simply see a happy, loved and healthy kid. It's amazing he loves mythology at seven (good work for both dads). I simply see two wonderful men who seem to truly respect and love eachother. Just a strong family, EXACTLY THE SAME as the rest of families over the planet. Don't give a shit if it's a woman-man, man-man, woman-woman or all the possible transexual/gender combinations. The only thing that matters is love. Homophobic individuals should either gain more brain cells or build up some self-steem. Seriously.

First of all, just because you are gay doesn't automatically mean you can't say anything offensive about gay people. You know it's actually possible to compliment people without insulting others. Instead of shitting on the speedo-wearing pride-goers, maybe focus on why those men are attacked more than masculine gay men. It's because society teaches us that men who wear makeup or are flamboyant are sissies. Wake the fuck up.

This is the stupidist thing I have read all day. I have a brother but I was significantly older than him and basically grew up as an only child and I'm fine. Would siblings closer in age to me have been nice? Probably. But do you really think I'm going to be an angry little shit about it, expecting my mom to go through pregnancy and childbirth twice (because my baby brother has a different mom) just because I felt entitled for her to have more than one kid? No. That's bullshit. My mom gave me everything I needed in life and outside of being an awesome mom she also raised me to know my parents are people who are allowed to be human and take what they can handle and not pop out babies to my whim. Ugh. What an ignorant comment.

I don't mean to be hurtful in any way and your family does look very loving but I wonder if there are long-term effects to having grown up without a mother. I also wonder why you should be entitled given that you are incapable of making your own? Children are not things and just because you want one doesn't mean you should. I looked into it a little bit and came across the story of a young woman who had grown up without a mother. It turned out to be somewhat of a traumatic experience for her, something she deeply missed. All this to say that I have my reservations as you can see and just because you can point to a number of successful stories doesn't mean that there are not other families where children actually suffer as a result of the arrangement. I wonder if you can point to a long-term study regarding these issues? Of course there are lots of hetero dysfunctional families but I would be curious to see how they compare to the two gay parents model. Respectfully
@Nonalhomophobie2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't make a difference to not have a mother. "Incapable of making their own" -> They are not. And would you say the same thing to heterosexual infertile couples adopting ? If they want a child they should have one the same way heterosexuals want one. Quit the patronizing condescending tone, now. You can't make generalities from one single story.
@AbcXyz-bs7pu2 жыл бұрын
There are millions of people across the world who have grown up with single parents Many studies show that they haven’t lost anything by having single parent or same sex couple. So this is more like your opinion and not a fact As far as “making their own” is concerned there are millions of infertile heterosexual couple who adopt or foster or go with gestational surrogacy

The moment when he was in the chair and reading to him and leaned down to kiss his head, it made me cry because it was just after he was talking about him being wild and energetic and it made me think of my own five year old baby boy who can be incredibly hyper and wild and exhausting at times, but how much I adore him as a human being and that parental love that overwhelms any tiring moment. Edit: I should mention that my son is way sweeter and smarter than I was at his age and I'm female, so fuck stereotypes about boys being difficult.
