Sexuality is defined by genetics aka NATURE. Being gay is NOT against the laws of nature. 3. Not Adam and Steve? You can Adam and LEAVE. Wasn’t God clear enough? He said that only himself is to judge anyone. Everyone else should shut the hell up and leave the judging to him then don’t they? So why are you people so judgemental?

Really like how this LGBT-film is actually really trying to appeal to a 'straight' audience with their choice to not make one of the gay boys the main character. People are acting like it's a virus or they think that if you're bisexual you're in love with every single person you talk to. That's so dumb. As a straight girl, this annoys me a lot, and not because people think I'm bi too but because I think it's unfair for bisexual and gay people to be treated this way.

It makes it a lot more relatable and understandable for most people. If you aren't gay, it doesn't focus on trying to showing you their perspective but rather your point of view, and what your attitude means which is more powerful.

I usually don't watch videos where I have to read subtitles. This one was worth it. It sends an important message.
@JustinAEgan5 жыл бұрын
To get the best emotions from an actor, or painter or writer ... he needs to feel comfortable. Our native language, our language we learned from childhood - actually shapes our personality as well as how we think, feel and interpret the hidden meanings of what our friends (lovers) and loved one are saying. Words only give an approximate meaning of of what we say to each other. The "Meta message" is transmitted by tones, as well as the hidden meaning we pass to the other person. I would prefer reading subtitles, and let the actors and writers speak in their natve tongue; than force them to try to use a language they are not 'quite' as comfortable using. Its like trying to use a Paint by numbers kit, to judge how Picasso or van Gough Leonardo da Vinci worked - even if it were the same, exact scene... the better the actor, painter; the better the final product. That's the whole point of "Artistic Freedom". in other words - let the artist Use the whole canvas, then translate it for those who can not feel the difference!.
@randyd.81715 жыл бұрын
@@JustinAEgan: I agree with what you are saying about the acting. I just usually don't care for videos where I can't understand the language. Reading subtitles for me, distracts from the story. It can make me miss the subtleties of the scene. Dubbed voices are even worse. I simply prefer videos in my own language. I think that is fairly normal.
@mrscashmorrisey17025 жыл бұрын
You should try. There are some amazing films out there in languages other than English. My only language in English and I actually watch very little English film. Foreign film for me is like travelling without leaving home. Plus, not knowing the actors before hand allows me to immerse myself in the story without preconceived ideas of who they are. I've learned a lot about other cultures and even picked up a word or two of other languages. I have many friends who think like you do and I have been trying to convince them to try it. The Netherlands and Spain have good stuff but so does France and Germany. Not just LGBT but movies in general. Far better than Hollywood stuff in my opinion.
@JustinAEgan5 жыл бұрын
@@mrscashmorrisey1702 +...Plus - with a video, you can pause, rewind and do some 'offline line' research. (I freely admit to using dictionaries, Thesaurus and "other" translations - to understand what I may miss in any video or short story). The same way I learned any foreign language, is the same way I might translate a video which is subtitled in Spanish, Portuguese or Greek or Italian - into English. Once it is translated into English, its much easier to find an 'application' or printed book to get a better translation. The biggest issue are Asian (pacific islander) Languages - since they don't use Latin, Germanic (Roman(?)) characters,... it much harder to find "on-line' translations .... got to change your keyboard...which is way too difficult!...best done by a native (A1)) translator.

Every minute was well spent, no unnecessary “fluff”, which made it feel a lot longer than just 13 min. It’s a powerful story and has both a positive development and a happy ending, which unfortunately is very rare in gay short films. The makers of this film has a realistic yet bright view on the topic. They show the sh*tty people and unpleasant situations you may meet, being an openly gay young man. But also how you by just being you, owning it and having that courage it takes to show who you truly are, even though it means that you must stand alone, can start a wave of kindness and understanding that then will spread throughout the community, making a change for yourself and for every other LGBTQ+ person out there who are struggling. All and all a really strong short film, that I would really recommend everyone to take 13 minutes out of their busy lives, and watch this. Even showing it in school would in my opinion be very helpful for both LGBTQ+’s and straights♥️

saeefa I appreciate the truth of what your saying...... but I suspect it’s just as hard for straight boys and girls to meet and make relationships. Most people find it tough, and are shy or feel inadequate. I found, even when you are young and or handsome or pretty, you still have to go out and meet the world. Very rarely does it come to you. Unless you have something the world wants, for the most part it doesn’t come knocking at your door. And as you get older it gets harder. You just have to gather all your courage up and get out there, make the effort and say hello. And most often than not, you get surprised, and rewarded!

it wasn't easy to focus seeing how beautiful they all are. that green dress was everything and that swing she was on. i'll have to watch it again so i can actually listen to the dialogue.

Niels is played by Josha Stradowski. He also stars in a more recent, feature length, gay film called 'Gewoon Vrienden' or Just Friends in English.

Oh...I thought I recognized him from this short. I saw that film some months ago and really enjoyed it. As I watched the short, I kept saying to myself that his face is familiar. Now, I've seen two with him.

This is the best shortfilm about homosexuality in my opinion, because it focuses on the straight friend, which makes it easier for heterosexuals people to relate. My favourite scene is when they are jogging towards the end, make eye contact and smile as if nothing ever happened. Friendship doesn’t need many words.

Okay so this was a really cute story for a short film BUT I have an idea that could be turned into an even bigger project: The story starts the same, until the girl who's friends with the openly gay guy says "It wouldn't surprise me". But who she actually means by that isn't Niels, it's the bully with the girlfriend, who is also gay but still in the closet and bullies the openly gay guy because of his own insecurities. Could be turned into a really cool movie with a (more or less, depends on your way of thinking) surprising plot twist in the end.
