Gay Wedding on The Power of LOVE!

Almost one year ago, Patrick​ and I were married 2 days after the mass shooting at a church in Charleston, South Carolina. Ed Bacon​'s healing sermon on the power of LOVE in the face of fear, violence, bigotry, injustice and HATE was so deeply comforting during that painful time. Here we are again. Another mass shooting as a result of bigotry and hate. As we grieve for those innocent people tragically taken from us in Orlando, I went back to this video and found his words were more profound and meaningful than ever. Thank you, Ed, for reminding us that there is hope and that we are powerful.

The descriptions of the Romans on homosexuality is very different from what gays are today. In fact, the kindest and wisest of young people are raised by good parents, and so all of the gay parents out there. Gay parents promote good ideas and knowledge to their children even if they have many of them. Adopted children can change under their care and raised with kindness and love, without the introduction of bad behaviours and habits. So if people denied about same sex marriages or any issues regarding LGBTQ rights, look around your neighborhood and see if there are any happy couples living in peace.

Nice ceremony. It’s odd however that the celebrant indicated his personal theology on love & not the theology of the church initiated by Christ & developed by countless theologians over 2thousand + years. Love isn’t a feeling, like he mentioned. Love is an action..a verb, we determine if it lives or dies, we don’t ‘feel’ it. This is why personal theology tends to become an issue. If you strip away it’s current facade & get to its core, the founder himself reiterated traditional Jewish scripture as marriage being monogamous & a life long joining between man/woman.
