It’s debatable, yea they did oppose this wicked movement to integrate SSM into their church, but that’s the least of their problems. I'm a gay Christian. I'm still attracted to men but attraction alone is not sin. This is called temptation, acting on it either in my mind (as a fantasy) or physically is a sin. Jesus would've accepted the 'homosexual' not the 'homosexual-ity.' John 7:53 8-11 speaks of a woman caught in adultery and the Pharisees were about to stone the woman for her sins, and Jesus stopped them and told the one who was without sin to cast the first stone. None were without sin and Jesus was the only one who could stone her. Instead, he told her to go and LEAVE YOUR LIFE OF SIN. Therefore, while Jesus loved her and accepted her, he did NOT accept her sin. I'm just telling you what the bible says about sin. If you want to argue that the bible says homosexuality is okay then fine, I'll listen to your argument. Don't try to say for one second that living a sinful life is okay however, Jesus clearly said it was NOT. 24:15 This couple has given in to temptation.

From my time as a Christian since the early 80s I have seen a frightening path for a complete disregard for HIS Word. What is left if pre-marital sex is now ok, divorce for almost any reason is ok, near pornographic entertainment ok, entertainment where almost every commandment is broken in a 30 minute show is ok and now homosexuality now isn't a sin. Is the Bible God's word? The Bible that we in the US read isn't the original Bible as it was written by its Greek authors. Its been translated. And translation is not an easy task. Its not a matter of matching words together like many religious scholars like to pretend it is. You must be able to thoroughly understand not just the literal text, but the person who wrote the words and the two *cultures* you are translating between. The passages that supposedly deal with homosexuality are all fraught with issues. The most glaring issue with the New Testament mentions are particularly curious. The Greeks had a word for homosexual relations. Yet the original authors didn't use that word. Royal Nugget - Using the Young’s _Literal_ Translation, or even the Dead Sea Scrolls, you will see, there is no mistranslation. It has nothing to do with pedophilia. _You_ would have to have deliberately mistranslated the Bible to represent your belief of what it says. Further, read Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9. They all speak against homosexuality in both the Old _and_ New Testaments.

​@TeachingTim No as people who follow the bible know its ok to be born gay so I mean homophobic as in people who follow the Bible rather than other people's hate filled desires then they are the church. If you don't agree with that you should leave and start your own religion, but whatever else it is it will never be the church of Jesus the Messiah. If you teach that homophobic behaviour is not sinful and that people do not need to repent of it then you are rejecting Jesus and He will reject you on the last day. If you teach this to others you are endangering their salvation too. It is better to enter heaven hate free than have a homophobic life and go to hell. In the time of the gospel this may have been the reason behind some becoming practical eunochs despite having perfectly normal genitalia. sorry

Simply put, America has become rotten from their lack of hardship. Simply taking for granted and being passive allowed themselves to be corrupted. In places like Africa and China (Africa’s a bit... zealous for me, but I’m curious what they’re like myself) they are actively fighting the good fight. In simply out the hardest conditions. Their faith is tested in a much more brutal fashion than any other places. It’ll shine if they can hold on in such a dark place. Could someone please explain to me what the people of early Mesopotamia had to live by being that the old testament was written after it? What did those people have to live by? They were polytheistic and had many practices such as infanticide that we would consider immoral today. Most Christians would consider the lack of biblical/church knowledge to be forgivable ignorance, And despite what many people will tell you all religion has a component of mystery. We are never truly certain about who or even what goes to heaven. So its possible that if they lived lives that were pleasing to God they could have been saved, but many would still be condemned because of sin. Sin would still exist in the eyes of God regardless of if we were aware of it or not. This is why we consider Gods decision to become man so he could teach and die for us to be the most loving act of all time. Most if not all denominations consider evangelical work to be super important because they believe that most people on the earth need to be saved from their sins. I hope this helps I'm coming from an Orthodox POV.
