I can't speak for everyone's IBS, but in my experience plant stuff makes it worse, especially if you're trying a low-FODMAP diet. The exceptions I can think of are basically rice, bananas, and some herbal teas (maybe potatoes and apple sauce and similar stuff). And there are animal products like broth (though stuff like miso/mushroom might be ok, I forget) for chicken soup, gelatin, and eggs that are actually very easy on the stomach. You sort of want to limit food that "promotes regularity" because "regularity" is what you already have too much of :P Idk, probably the diet works for some people w/GI problems (?).
