It's so difficult to express what I see as a glue book. I've had so many during my life that were either gifted to me ( I still have them, yr. 1940's) or done myself but this is definitely like a Wow, yes type of style. Not sure when, but I will try it.....just because of you, sweet Gayle!!

Love all your tutorials but this one is really great. I've always wanted to do a glue book and didn't quite know where to start. Love how these glue books are coming along. :) TFS!! Hugs!

I have one with old cars that I may share that one with Randy ( my granddaughters other 1/2) if he wants, but it would make a good man's journal. A safe place then you or anyone else can't remember where that place is/was. I lost all of the negatives of my children that way. Wow it just occurred that maybe their dad found them and took them. We were divorced by That time, but he was at my house a couple of times. That never occurred to me before just now lol

Hi Gayle...don't apologize! We're all with you in what you share about your life. Personally, I enjoy listening to you talk about ANYTHING!!! Plus, I've learned so VERY much about this craft. I retired a year ago and I'm enjoying immensely having time to create. I'd never heard of journals and collaging (sp?) and glue books and distress ink and a hundred other things until I started watching you and Wendy and Juliejulie, and others. I just love all of it! Please consider digitizing those beautiful eco-dyed pages where you used the pink food coloring. They are GORGEOUS, and I want to use them. I haven't made a journal yet, but I've been creating cards, and having SO much fun doing that. Are we able to send you a PDF file? I'd like to show you a couple and see what you think... It went by too quick! I enjoyed watching you pick out the pages...it’s fun seeing them coming together. Don’t even worry about your other video, I didn’t really notice that you seemed not your usual self, maybe just a little worried about that shoulder and you have every right to worry about it. That kinda surgery is no easy thing. I forgot to mention my sleep tip, I find videos on KZbin of the ocean waves and put it on my night stand...there are some that are 8 and 10 hours so it plays all night. They also have other sounds like rain, etc. It does seem to help me when I try and listen to that rather than think of the 500 things I need to get done. Just a thought...thanks for the wonderful video!

Hi Gayle, I am going to have rotator cuff surgery soon. What things should I do ahead of time so that I can continue to make JJ’s? I think the spines would be cute as a decoration on a pocket or make a bookmark out if it.
@jkatz585 жыл бұрын
If the surgery is on your dominant arm, practice wiping after potty business with your nondominant hand. Also, plan to sleep in a recliner for as long as you need to. I spent 3 weeks sleeping in my recliner until I could lay flat in my bed. Also set up stuff to entertain yourself where you will be able to easily reach it and make sure you can use whatever with your one good arm. Hope it all goes well and you have rapid recovery.
@gayleagostinelli_ct5 жыл бұрын
Jan gave good advice! I took about two months off making journals. If you go back on my channel to May & June 2018, you’ll see videos of the stuff I could do. I’m right handed and had surgery on my right shoulder. I crafted and did most everything else with my left hand. It’s a lot smarter than it used to be! Haha! I’d say the most important two things for a good recovery are 1) attain as much range of motion as you can before surgery and 2) do your PT religiously! The home exercises are super important! My doctors were amazed at my recovery, but it was because I did my PT homework without fail . Oh and another thing, it wasn’t nearly as painful as they had me prepared for, so that was good!! I’m very particular about the quality of my journals which is why I took two months off. But I kept busy with little projects. Maybe those old videos will give you some ideas to work on while you’re recovering! Best of luck and feel free to email me if I can be of any help! Gayle.agostinelli@gmail.com ❤️

Hi Gayle , great work as usual. Cxx I’m no expert but if you have metal in your shoulder it will play up on you in the colder weather. You would think your body warmth would not allow this but for some people with metal parts all suffer from the same problem . Maybe a heat pack on it at night . I could be wrong but it’s worth a thought . Have fun with Mr A on your date night. Cheers from Oz xxxx

I have several videos on my channel where I work in my glue book. They might help, but basically a glue book is just a book to glue images, paper and such that make you happy or that you enjoy looking at. I tend to create collages in mine, but some people just randomly glue pictures in. A true junk journal is a journal made with “throw away” type papers, junk mail and things like that. I would say the majority of journals I make and others on You Tube are more “handmade journals” than “junk journals”, because we use decorative paper, coffee or tea dyed papers, or hand dyed eco dyed papers and we use lace and other beautiful goodies. Those handmade journals are for writing or memory keeping. I hope this helps, if you still have questions, always feel free to ask! ❤️

My sister ended up with the set and her ( horrible ) mother in law sold them at a yard sale. We were all crushed when we found out. Years later after being stationed overseas we lived in NM I went to the worst thrift shop in town ( overflowed litter boxes for cats etc. ) I found the set for $20. I about cried. Oh! Now as I thpe this I see Keeko! :( That was another that was another special one of my mom's!! I have since found copies for myself.
