Oh my Gayle, worry not about the bad words on the dollar store book pages. First of all I think most of us use them, so we know what is in them and second, there is no way we can see any words on the pages let alone spot a bad word. It's all good girly. I am excited to see how your accordion journal turns out. You have a blessed day!
@gayleagostinelli_ct3 жыл бұрын
That’s what one nasty comment from a viewer will do…make one forever self conscious about what they complained about. 🥴. I don’t know…maybe they used a magnifying glass. 😂. I can’t read the words either! ❤️
@kathw70203 жыл бұрын
I can’t see the words, no worries, ignore the nit pickers.
@LynsAlteredArts3 жыл бұрын
People are weird, if you have to pause the video, enlarge it, and get out your magnifying glass to look for something to be offended by then you’ve got more of a problem than a word on a page. Besides, it’s not like those words were aimed at her, nobody was calling her those words, well at least not in this incident, may be in her real life. 😝
@donnatolle14193 жыл бұрын
I agree with all here Gayle. You are using book pages from numerous and varied books. Are you now supposed to go through and edit what is written on those pages? You should decipher the foreign languages, all the offensive terms and sexual references from dictionary pages, on and on to ridiculousness? If you were throwing out offensive language on your videos one would just move on. The overtly sensitive should do the same.
@sharonskains50493 жыл бұрын
This video was fascinating to me because it was really the first one on an accordion journal that I have seen. What an interesting idea! I can't wait to watch you work on it. I agree with the other comments about apologizing for dollar store books. In actuality, I rarely see a contemporary best seller that does not include bad words. I think we should be kinder to dollar store books overall because they represent so many broken dreams in the writing community, and not always because they are subpar. I had a friend whose book ended up in the dollar bin only because it was unfortunately published the same month that another novel by a well established writer hit the shelves on the same subject and the advertising budget was massive. Years later, my friend's book beat the competition as a novel on Vietnam, and he went on to win international competitions with his fiction. I love giving dollar books, no matter the reason they became one, another chance to shine. So many hopes and dreams are tucked away inside their pages.
@LynsAlteredArts3 жыл бұрын
Interesting take on the Dollar Tree books. The only experience I’ve had with those books is because my cousin bought one to actually read and she read the whole thing and got to the end and the last pages were missing and she never found out how it came out. So, I think some of them end up there because of misprints.

Good Morning Gayle! I must have watch 20 videos doing accordion journals and just couldn’t get it. Like you say “hurts my brain” lol. You made the process so easy. Strip down the middle both sides, score and fold. Thank you for another great video for Scrappy Saturday ! 💕

Loved this scrappy Saturday Gayle. The accordion book is quite interesting. You always come up with a different project that stimulates, motivates and sparks ideas. Thank you for your enthusiasm. What makes this project so special are the neutral collage pages showcasing the vintage paper. Such a relaxing time with you in your craft room today. Thank you.

Mary is correct, it takes a lot to spot the bad words in book pages!! I mean are they reading it or watching the video? I watched it on my 55 inch TV and never noticed anything bad. I'm so excited to be visiting my favorite girl friend, who cares about the words on a page. Some people dig really deep to find things to complain about. LOL 😂 Amy also had a great comment it doesn't matter how many people I see make something when you make it it makes so much more sense to me. Your style of teaching just really simplifies it. Besides it's always more fun to learn when you're playing with a friend. Thank you for all you do for us. Sorry I didn't comment earlier I watched the video and then the antibiotics I'm on made me tired. Darn sinusitis and ear infections... Interrupting my Gayle time. Hope you and the family are all are well and everything is going perfect in your neck of the woods without any holes in your walls. Hope the grandkids won their games! 🐞✌️🕉️

I think your squirrel took a vacation to S. California Gayle! 😄 For the first time in my 26 years of living in my house I have a squirrel in my backyard and he’s not shy lol. I love this idea, I have a Vanity Fair from the 1890’s that fell apart and is too delicate for most things but will do well in this project. And it has wonderful graphics and ads… I can’t wait to get started! Thank you so much for sharing and your wonderful inspiration.

There are people that literally look for things to criticize others about, they’re insecure and jealous people. Sad people. I can relate to you worrying about your squirrels, I worry if all my birds don’t show up, today I was all upset because one of my 🦌 ( I have a herd of about 12 that hang out in our yard) was limping. I was in a panic, then all of a sudden he was prancing around like Rudolph .

Great idea!! Going to have to try it!!! I had noticed even as early as this past summer there were hardly any squirrels around anywhere!!! Even by the lake ... Erie... abt 10 miles from me..there are always an abundance of the critters. And there is a super highway of wires that they use to get across 2 streets has almost no squirrels ...So the issue isn’t just in Montana.. but NY as well... Wonder if anyone else has noticed?? Or knows what’s going on? Stay cozy and warm!!!😻👩🏻🦰💖

Scrappy Saturday I look forward to every week, it’s like the perfect Gayle-day for the weekend. 💜 Thank you for the joy and fun always. Hugs 🤗 We haven’t had any squirrels either in Huntley Gayle. Don't worry about the bad words, we don't even get to see what they are as we are so busy watching what you are doing. I hope your grandson does well in his wrestling match and your granddaughter with her basket ball, it is such fun to hear about your wonderful family. Hi Gayle. So happy to hear your upbeat voice today. I found out today that a good friend from my teaching days in Virginia has passed away. She had been battling blood cancer the last 4 years and finally lost that battle. She was only 47. I feel so very sad as I had last got a text from her at Thanksgiving and thought she was okay. But I didn't get a Christmas card from her like I normally do and she hadn't written me back on an email. Thought maybe she was just busy with family over the holidays. I didn't even consider she might be really bad as our neighbor friend has the same thing and is doing okay. He is much older, too. Now, I rarely get on Facebook anymore, but had to today and saw another teacher had made a post about her being gone. It really broke my heart and I've been feeling so foolish for not checking on her sooner. But as I've told you, my life has been so hectic due to work and my own health issues. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that you mean a lot to me, my friend, and are such a joy for me, even when I can't get on here. Thank you for being you and all the warmth you have brought to my life and others. I love what you do, but love you, Gayle, the person even more. God bless you and I hope you have a good rest of your day. Hugs! Sue
