Love the laces that you chose for them. They match so well. I love your creativity and how pretty the lace flips are !! I cannot watch and craft at the same time. When I've tried that I loose to much that you are saying and showing. I guess it has something to do with the dyslexia I have. It's always been that way and that's probably a good pert of why 1st and second.grades were so hard for me. Itvwasnt untill after I learned to read that learning became easier for me, but I still learn best by watching how things go to get her. Thats probably why I can stream your videos watching for hours on end. I'm learning as I watch.

Second time through and it's still not boring. I watched the first time as an overview and loved it. Bill was commenting the entire time, engrossed in the soap opera qualities of your plumbing woes. This time, I've got it running in the background as I do the same steps you are. (I've learned that if someone has already figured out how to do something, it's wise to do it their way the first time, then make my own adjustments the next time through.) So this time, he's missing out because he chose to go do man stuff. (I think he was just getting overwhelmed by all the estrogen.) Thanks so much for your generosity in sharing your expertise ... and your stories.

Our tubes are to big and the hot water of our tub is not poweful enough so the Grease is going to drift on top ...we have to do that with a plummer every three years now...grrrr I use kitchen paper towels even time to clean the dist before it Goes in the dishwasser! So good of you to to both what you want to do...walking or making gorgeous journals. So that was a long story from me ...just know i love your story's and sewing you crafting! I am crafting two Christmas TNs right along with you. I pretty much have spent the whole day with you! We had a disaster at our house this morning, I was getting ready to sew around my cover and my daughter started hollering for me upstairs. I ran up the steps and discovered as she was painting her toenails the cat had tipped over her burgundy nail polish and it spilled on my cream carpet. YIKES! Sooooo....calmly we poured nail polish remover over and dabbed and pretty much got it up. It was pretty stinky too! Glad I didn't have to clean out storage area or anything. Not boring at all, Gayle. Lets me piddle around with my project at the same time.

So sorry. It’s amazing how the clog in the sink can ruin your week. I had like a waterfall of bad things last week. Hopefully it’s all over. One car broke down with my 18 yr old son and 14 yr old daughter coming home at 11 pm on the highway. Then my front tire blew out so I had to buy 2 tires I hadn’t budgeted for. Then, my stove caught on fire while I was making dinner. Thank goodness I hadn’t made the roast I planned on making because it would have caught on fire while I wasn’t home. The entire heat element on the bottom of the oven literally shoots flames when it’s plugged it. Super weird. Hope both our luck is better from her out! Loving this series.

I have some information for you on your sewing machine. DO NOT oil without checking your manual, if it a computer machine they are not oiled. You do need to change your needle if it is dull. Not changing it can make it harder to sew easily. You have a good machine and you need it to sew the wonderful projects you do. Love you tutorials . Sue Brown

Well Gayle, I’ve had one heck of a few days too. I drove 4 1/2 hours to see my kids & grandkids then drove another 3 1/2 hours to visit a friend. As soon as I got to my friends I hurt my shoulder... bad. Drove back to my kids house went to see an orthopedic surgeon & found out I tore my rotator cuff. Now I’m still at my kids house, waiting to schedule surgery. Do I have surgery here or go back home to find a surgeon there. Oh my goodness! In the meantime I’m just sitting watching your videos, which is a good thing but have nothing to work on. I’ll be glad to have all this behind me.

First, glad your shoulder didn't get hurt more seriously in the fall. And very glad you didn't have an even bigger mess to clean up! I'm wondering about your sewing machine needle - do you use a ball point (yellow band) needle? You don't need it for paper - a plain one would be better for that, but when sewing through those polyester laces, the ball point would serve you better - probably about an 11. Just a thought. :)

Hello Gayle Good to see you didnt hurt yourself too much 😃. The question that I had from a couple of videos ago you touched on the subject very quickly, so now I can ask my question hahaha. The overhanging of papers in journals ... I can understand the basics ...putting lots of papers in a journal is reason for overhanging ( hope I got that right ). In your video u just cut off and there didnt seem to be that much of an overhanging... (like mine and yet all same width). Question when you sew the middle of journal does your paper bring the "overhanging" material in a bit ... Am I doing something wrong that my paper does have a couple of cms overhang ? (Sorry no inches in the land down under lol). Would love to hear your advice and hear if it happens to any other followers. Cheers Val
@gayleagostinelli_ct6 жыл бұрын
Valy, the middle pages were maybe a quarter of an inch to wide. I may not have had to cut them, but they were just a bit too long for me. The first page lace sure does hide a lot! Yes, when sewing in the signature it does “pull” the papers back a bit. I try to get them as close as possible, but figure the lace will cover any slight overages. I would trust what you feel on yours. If you feel it’s too much of an overage, trim them down slightly. If it feels okay, just leave it. Hope that helps a little, my friend!! ❤️

I'm a little scared to start making these TN's..........people are having small catastrophes! lol all joking aside, I hope you are fine. I do have a question on the construction of the TN. since there is no real spine, do you notice the pages end up uneven due to the "fold" factor? It's happened to me making small journals out of old pages. The edges of the pages end up appearing to be cascade-looking (is that a word???) also, as an old, retired nurse, didn't you have shoulder surgery a while back? Rt arm, I think. Just sayin'
@gayleagostinelli_ct6 жыл бұрын
Dela, I make my pages almost an inch thinner than the cover to account for the “fold” factor. Also, the lace helps hide any cascading. Hope that helps a little! ❤️

How come you just don't glue it would that be easier
@gayleagostinelli_ct6 жыл бұрын
Easier maybe, but doesn’t look as nice in my opinion. When you put a lot work into the small details, it really shows in the final journal. That said, gluing is an option if you don’t have a sewing machine. ❤️
