I cannot believe this is happening, even in the United States, particularly with the amount of progress, as you say. I can't imagine, getting up every day and going to work, filled with fear. What kind of society ALLOWS people to be in fear every single day. That is harm. Psychological harm, and possibly criminogenic of physical harm. It makes me angry and I just want to hug you. It's utterly ridiculous but these things will be deemed ludicrous in the years to come by future generations. Less than 100 years ago, women couldn't vote, a few hundred years ago black people were slaves. Nowadays that is deemed completely crazy, and so, I believe in the years to come people will deem decisions like these as ridiculous, as us select few already do. But we have the last laugh, because we enjoy life and we're happy :)

Calvin, thank you for the video. Big businesses are on our sides, or so it appears. I work for a large corp and they are very diverse. Most Big businesses have a say in these arcane laws, see what happened to Indiana. They want to be diverse so that they can attract the talent needed to survive and compete. The youth of today and the large part of society are on our side. Things will change. It's much better today than when I was your age. Not there yet. These politicians have to cater to these far right religious fanatics, because they don't have much left to hold on to for their votes. They could give a crap about gays, but they have to pretend to " protect " the Christians. Good luck for you. Love you and your videos. You are always funny. It's a sad statement that if it had put up to general vote, a significant portion of the country would still be segregated, discrimination for almost all reasons would still be legal, and even women would be second class citizens. So many people have to put others down simply to make themselves feel superior, and I just don't see human nature getting any better. Nor does it feel any better to be living in what a significant portion of the rest of the world consider to be the most prejudiced and bigoted industrialized country.

I work with a guy that is openly gay. And even has a husband. He is a very nice guy and is a super hard worker. None of us (Coworkers) have any issues with him. To us he is just another worker. Just cause you are LGBT. Doesn't mean are a sick person. Everyone deserve to be treated with respect. I hope one day people can see that.

Why? Why is this even a thing. I dont think propel realize that now even they aren't protected from being fired. Well I suppose it probably won't happen "you're fired because you're straight" but honestly it could and they can't even sue now. But just the fact that they went through so much effort to do that is infuriating. When I came out my dad said "that's not something you want to share openly because someone can use that against you later" I told him that if they do its their problem and not mine and here legally they can't but now where you are they took that bit of protection away and now you just have to hope that your employer is not a homophobe. I think anti discrimination laws are wrong. Anyone should have the right to hire/fire or not hire/fire anyone for any reason at any time. However, since we DO have anti discrimination laws, we are constitutionally obliged to extend them to all social classes, for the sake of equal protection under the law. This, of course, includes the LGBT community.

One point: When talking about being gay, don't refer to it as 'what you do in bed', as that promotes thew ignorant opinions that it's just about sex. Refer to it as who you are naturally attracted to.

Many opposing religious people's reasons why they don't want gay marriage and gay-related privileges allowed are because of their points of the Bible saying "when one man lay with another man" and such. I know it's not about just sex. That's the main reason they oppose gay people though is because of their choice of having sex. And that has nothing to do with them or their right to discriminate.
