I once wanted to listen to this guy when he was elected Mayor of Beaufort West. He was full of innovative ideas and he seemed like a breathe of fresh air. Well that was short lived. As a resident of Knysna I won’t forgive him for breaking their coalition with the DA and throwing the PA support behind the ANC. Everyone knows how this coalition in Knysna has turned out. Glad to see that judging from the votes in the General Election, of the Local Election had been held at the same time, the DA would have won back a majority in the council. For the DA to have lost the Western Cape, there would have had to be around 122 000 votes for other parties that have gone uncounted. So is Gayton saying the uncounted boxes of votes that were allegedly found contained almost as many votes as the PA got in the Western Cape in total? I am not sure if the PA did their maths here to support the claim that the DA should've lost the Western Cape due to allegedly uncounted votes.

Im in Athens now. Greece has made an amazing turnaround. I dread returning to SA. The city is absolutely clean, amazing public transport system on par with that of any western EU country. Everything functions here, water, electricity. I've never seen a city teeming with more tourists than any other country I've been too. On a hopeful note, Im buying a few tickets to the 120 million EU draw.. I need a "ticket" out of KZN at the very least.

He speculated the DA will loose majoroty on WC, they did not. His party, even though they grew in support, did much worse than he projected. Gayton please tell us what happened to getting a majority or sitting in opposition, it was good enough for the DA IFP and all the other parties why is it not good enough for Zuma and MK. The Rand = The People of South Africa! The Rand only survived apartheid due to the sanctions imposed on our country, which ultimately forced us to form a democratic government. Actually the Rand did not survive. We just got used to living with the weakening Rand. It went from 8 : 1 to the dollar to 19 : 1. Though I don't support his scare mongering, he is right.. The poor don't care about the Rand.. And considering how the ANC has doled out free education, now healthcare merging etc, the could also introduce some sort of a public transport subsidy to those who collect social welfare... Result is: us middle class get screwed even more.

Gayton is contradicting himself. 45% of the people in KZN voted for MK. What did the other 55% vote for? Which is a majority. And referring to the DA 11% who will intend to propose their Premier Candidate while he's been talking for almost 5 years about becoming president. What percentage of the vote were he relying on? And speaking about the Rand, how are we supposed to feed these people or keep them happy with no money or no value to our currency? This is why the people of South Africa and even the Western Cape have rejected him. They figured him out.
