Hamas continues to perpetrate this war by holding hostages and refusing to enter into peace negotiations and disarm, they continue to use the Palestinian civilian population as human sheilds. Both sides in any conflict will ramp up attacks in the lead up to a ceasefire in order to gain as much advantage as possible. The host of negotiations needs to change to result in a different outcome, Jordan is the only neutral stable country in the region and should be taking the lead role here. Jordan has historically successfully negotiated in their own conflicts with Israel, and would be the most qualified country to negotiate the administration outcome of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

As simple as this comment was, it was more intelligent than any I had heard on the war from his electoral opponent, who talked about "ending the war immediately," seemingly without any regard for what the outcome would be. If you don't care about the outcome, you can always end a war by just giving up. The outcome is the whole point of it, and Trump is at least intelligent enough to see that.
