Award-winning journalist Arwa Damon has just returned from a humanitarian trip to Gaza in her capacity as the founder of INARA, the International Network for Aid Relief and Assistance, a nonprofit currently providing medical and mental healthcare to children. Damon describes the overwhelming need for aid under Israel's siege of the territory. "Nothing goes in and out of Gaza without Israel's approval. That includes aid, and that includes people," she says, calling the Israeli military's rules for what is allowed in "illogical" and arbitrary. "The zone needs to be flooded, not only with aid … but also with humanitarian workers," concludes Damon. We also discuss the mental health crisis gripping the population, U.S. military assistance to Israel and how anti-Arab racism and fearmongering in Western media coverage has and hasn't changed in the post-9/11 era.

As for the ICJ making a ruling, just listen to the tone and words of their preliminary ruling, and that's without all of the subsequent actions and atrocities, and completely ignoring the courts recommendations as Israel is doing, then bare in mind that the president of the court was American, and she herself was one of the 15/16 that voted for a plausible case for Genocide, but she's now been replaced by a judge from Lebanon, I think it's very unlikely that Israel are going to get away with it this time. There will be Global uproar if they do, and this will hasten the decline of the Western powers geopolitically.

I'm feel ashamed watching this while sitting on my couch, warm, watching it rain outside. To be stuck outdoors in the elements with little to no help, no sanitary conditions around me, and FOREVER BRACING for another strike is unimaginable. Seeing those children with skin stretched tight over just bones is horrific and makes me question why my country is supporting this, PRETENDING to warn Israel of more attacks. Sadly they have more than likely killed the hostages that they're fighting for while blaming Hamas so their hands look clean. Gaza's conditions insure a whole new generation of fighters who grew up with fear in rubble. They will have nothing to lose.

The true toll could be a hundred thousand or more. Children succumbing to diseases, malnutrition, and lack of clean water are being buried uncounted. Hamas lost the ability to count a long time ago. Those under the rubble were never counted. I have heard from more than one source the toll could reach 200,000 or more when it ends. More than 10% of the population is not inconceivable.
