Dogma is probably the strongest visual kei/japanese heavy metal album since Dir en grey's Uroboros by its ugly heaviness, dramatic melodies, solid songwriting, visual kei's typical sexiness sense, strange and bizarre atmospheres driven by a consistant artistic direction, like clashing the brutality of Slipknot's IOWA (they're assumed Slpknt fanboys) with the uncanny esoteric ambient from Marilyn Manson's Holy Wood and the angst, anger and weirdness of Dir en grey's Dum Spiro Spero. the GazettE tries a kind of back to basics with Dogma in the same way that Nirvana did on In Utero by drowning powerful pop melodies in a global heavy and savage record, being straight to the band's roots. Absolutely stunning and impressive.

I've held the gazette and dir en grey on the same tier for some time now, while it seems diru's american stint kind of faded it looks like the gazette's have started. we'll see tho, dir en grey got in through metal whereas the gazette have mainly done it on their own.

I noticed that the other video of Dogma is not available on my country (and may not be also available in other regions as well) therefore it may have been licensed by youtube or the content did not comply to our local laws (explicit content maybe?) so i guess that's why they re-uploaded another video that could be viewed here and in other regions as well. but i dunno. maybe there are other reasons as well hahaha

oh my god i came back! i've been listening to their discography and binge-watching their mvs again since last night. i started being a fan of the gazette when i was in middle school in 2008? 2009? uh, can't remember. they're my first ever band that i was a HUGE stan of and actually spent money for. basically my first love. though a lot of things happened to me, went through different phases, the trends changed and all, and i'm not as invested as before but i still can never, and will never let these men go. their music is a masterpiece. one of the best rock bands ever. ah i love them so much.
