Some food for thought: Ymir built every single titan out of sand in the paths. Meaning every time someone transforms she possibly spends years and years in path time making just one with her bare hands and a bucket. And now add that up to the millions of colossal titans in the walls...

I think that's her titan ability. It's like how the flash and the speed force are connected. Without ymir, the coordinate would not exist. And people draw/use power from the coordinate just like the speedsters draw power from the speedforce.

@@itsmesteve1081 oh no I definitely get that. Its just the fact that she has no will in usage of her power so to say. Like yes time might pass differently but we still see how shes bound by chains of love for King Fritz. It might be self imposed chains but seeing her reaction when eren held her and gave her the choice (what SHE wants vs what anyone else wants from her) so I think its still safe to say shes been suffering for all that time

When Eren was holding Ymir, that was the first time we actually saw her eyes. Eren saw everything when he kissed Historia's hand. And many don't realize that the necklace that she was holding during that ceremony looked like Eren's Founding Titan from the frontal view. The foreshadowing in the show is incredible. You can rewatch the entire series repeatedly and always find a clue you missed the previous times. And the Anime series doesn't end until later this year. I cannot imagine how many more Easter eggs were missed along the way. Just pure genius writing. Like many others, I will definitely be rewatching the series again.

The 9 titans have 13-year lifespans. Did you catch that there were 13 hands pointing at Ymir? She also died after being a titan for 13 years, hence the reason for the 13-year lifespan. The 9 cannot live longer than the original founder. In the previous episode when Grisha told of the Attack Titan's special ability to see the future, that shouldn't have been too big of a shock because of what Eren Kruger (aka, The Owl) stated at the end of that episode. He mentioned Armin and Mikasa. He didn't even know whose memories he was seeing. Many of us wondered then if the Attack Titan could see the future. (Yep, one of the Easter Eggs.)

14:12 You've yet to hear her speak because of something that was bit more obvious in the manga - when you see the Eldians herding the slaves together, there is a brief shot where one of them is getting his tongue cut out before Ymir is pushed to be next in line. We don't ever hear her speak because she can't.

Yeah, it's so subtle and quick that even I forgot about it. That's why she can't talk. And that's also why when the king asked who let the pigs out people only pointed their fingers and not speak. It's because they literally couldn't. Thinking about it now, I wonder if ymir created the coordinate and paths to be able to connect her descendants together since she couldn't talk. What if she used the coordinate as a means of communication but then it was used for war. Wow

Theres one thing i would like to clarify a bit, although it seems kinda random. I think AoT is pretty much one of the top anime of all time, and it explains 99% of its story really well. But, i think it has a bit of a miss explaining the eldian vs the world situation that i think its worth focusing on a little bit more, so you understand why eren is doing this and why peace is not an option whatsoever: All the info is layed out, but for some reason it somehow doesnt usually register for most people on their first watch (myself included) The world hates the eldians with a passion, it is explained in s3ep20 by the fat guard dude that killed grishas sister: The entire worlds desire is to erradicate eldians from this world Why? He himself also explains that: "See that? (looking at a titan) Thats your peoples true form" A man eating immortal giant whose only purpose is to eat and puke. The world is scared shitless of eldians, so they want them gone, specially from the dark history that is also used to brainwash the current generations, although true. If you think marley mistreats them, we only get one line, from gabi/falcos friend, udo, who comes from outside and understands foreign languages: "Eldian in marley are actually treated a lot better than in other places" (or something similar). Now lets looks at how marley treats eldians which is the best place (probably only second to hizuru) for eldians to be at: Tower guard, s4e15: " (splashes water at grishas family) My job is to clean trash" Ksavers wife: Prefers to kill the eldian kid and herself rather than letting a new eldian be born into this world. Her own kid. Marley people, s3e20: Throwing glass bottles at eldians working the roads, grisha included Incapacitated soldier form the mid east alliance, getting treatment from falco as mercy: "Dont touch me, i will be tainted. Demon." Eren to armin, i think s24e10: Armin: Some of them came around and are friendly to us Eren: Most of them are staring holes at their cells Armin: I think with enough time, they will understand/ Fix their misunderstanding that we arent scary Eren: Misunderstanding? What misunderstanding? We turn into man eating giants. Why does marley not kill eldians? They are just used for war, so marley is basically no different from the eldian empire. Why peace is impossible from a timing perspective: At the time eren destroys liberio, the entire world declares war on paradis, a single island (to erens favor, he did wait until the final moment possible, and he smiles as its declared as if he gives up all hope in that moment). An image is used in the manga when zeke escapes levi and sais "you have no idea what that means", the image of countless soldiers arriving at the island to kill them all. It would be like all the armies in the entire world in 1920s all grouping up to kill every person inside madagascar, a complete one sided massacre. Even with the argument of letting time pass to let bygones be bygones, eren cant see the result and cant leave it to luck, he has only 4 years to live, zeke only has one and both eren and zeke wont stay put on their final moments. Eren asked armin in s4e10 for his opinion on how to fix it, his answer is what i wrote. Eren also asks hange, i think in 24e11 or 12, but hes clearly more desperate and lashes out at hange, but the japanese he uses is actually formal, as he still recognizes her as his superior, hes looking for an answer better than the one he has in mind, but none is given. He asked these two because he knows they are the smartest people he can ask. (Theres pixis but he probably wouldnt talk to him after liberios massacre) Theres an infinity of little moments that show this that i havent mentioned, just the ones that came to mind. Peace is just not possible. I invite people to think together of new better solutions, from our outsider perspective, i would like to see if anyone has a better idea of how to fix most problems, it would be interesing to see. Solutions from the show: 1. Eren: Kill the world but the island (counterpoint: massive genocide, the world could have an ecological inbalance, etc) 2. Zeke: Euthanise all eldians and keep the world at bay for 50 years with the rumbling until all eldians die out (Not ensures, last years they could be routed, its not ensured the people that inherit the beast and founder will keep doing this) 3. Marley: All eldians are killed by marley and normal humans (just massive genocide, like before) 4. Paradis military: Not use euthanasia but use the rumbling to keep enemies at bay until their military is at a stage to fend them off (not realistic, you are fighting the entire world) If i forgot any, please let me know

Nicely put. It covers the situation really well. I would also add that maybe Eren could be more judicious in who gets killed. Carve out Hizuru or Onyankopon's home. But that would be a logistical nightmare and maybe not possible for him. It might also invite a counterattack. It could also just galvanize all the survivors so they just bide their time and come for Paradis
@MAGICO3O
@MAGICO3O Жыл бұрын
@@Kaldurahm1 **VERY MILD SPOILERS (no manga spoilers) will add the title when i say it** NON SPOILER PART He does do something like that, by talking to all eldians even those outside the walls, hes warning them beforehand that he is coming, allowing them a chance to escape earlier so that if he gets stopped, the eldians have a higher chance to survive (Hence the opening saying "beware, its coming"). At least he gives somewhat of a priority to eldians. It might all be for nothing if he completes the rumbling, of course I feel bad for hizuru and onyankopons/volunteers home, but as you said, it just doesnt seem plausible. I dont think they would seek revenge since they are friendly and survive so no damage done, but those locations could also act as refuge for any hostiles trying to escape. Plus theres no way of notifying them that the rumbling wouldnt hit them as they arent eldians. Everyone up to date with the anime probably has a good idea of how hes feeling about this though, wont say any more. SPOILERS PART (UP TO DATE ANIME INFO) This warning allows reiners mom, annies dad and others to get on the train earlier and escape to the point they are at. He is also shown to be able to choose who he calls, so calling the eldians outside the walls to warn them is his own choice.

Exactly...I keep asking when people go antagonising eren like did you forget all you saw for 4 seasons...nobody says its just a good thing to kill people but the show has made it blatantly clear that its that or be killed...there's no in-between. True things could've turned out different if a lot of other preceeding things were different but right here right now...its a them or us choice no other options (it just so happens to be that "them" is the entire world
@bluezapdos0
@bluezapdos0 Жыл бұрын
@@essiensamuel1816 so because you saw some people being killed and bullied, I should not antagonize if one of them stars destroying the world? What? Specially if this is a person who has knowledge enough to know that most people in the world are just innocent. Also, in that perspective, you should be on Marley's side, because they have been slaughtered for 1900 years by eldians. What eren is doing is complete non sense, and if you read the manga it is even worse. He accomplished nothing, literally not a single one of his friends would live a happy life if eren killed everybody and destroyed the world. Even Eren can't make sense of what he is doing. Also, with Zeke's plan, Eren and his friends would not be killed. The whole thing is just about having children, that is what they would need to sacrifice. So it is not kill or be killed. There was this option. But he chooses to destroy the world, to kill everybody, kill most animals, destroy the envinronment.
@essiensamuel1816
@essiensamuel1816 Жыл бұрын
@bluezapdos Then if you read the entirety of the comment we all replied under you'll see how "most people in the world aren't innocent" as far as the anime goes, it's been buttressed that so little I'd say maybe 2% of the world actually truly are indifferent to eldians...the rest even if they're relatively innocent would kill every eldian if given the choice maybe not even due to hatred but due to fear of the fact that eldians are literally man eating giants...hell I'm sure even you would really consider it if you were a non eldian living in the aot world. Also about zeke, again if you read the entirety of the comment we're talking under, you'll see that euthenizing just leaves it all to chance cos who's to say the next inheritors would agree with that option or that the world still won't attack them even with them having control of the founder Imo this perfectly explains the situation. twitter.com/yoneed2calmdown/status/1632668671721062401?t=FnPmB81jmFLHBr7Req17CA&s=19

You might've not noticed but Ymir along with all the other slaves from the same village had their tongues cut out by the Eldian tribe. This was done to prevent any rebellious behaviour because removing one's ability to speak also removes their freedom. Even though she would've grown her tongue back with the Power of the Titans, Ymir doesn't speak in the Paths because as a slave, she considers her words meaningless and unimportant. That mentality has been embedded in her for years under King Fritz's rule. Her tears right before the rumbling show just how much she was suffering and Eren finally gets her to break. In reality, Ymir began the Rumbling not Eren. Eren simply convinced her to go through with it. Eren wanted her to have freedom as much as he did himself.

Great reaction of one of the greatest episodes of AOT. This episode has many particularities: from its title (From you, 2000 Years Ago), which links it to the first episode (To You, in 2000 Years) and keep in mind that the first chapter of the manga was published in September 2009 and the 122nd chapter of the manga titled as this episode of the anime was published in October 2019 (somewhat risky, because if a manga does not receive enough sales in Japan, the publisher does not hesitate to cancel it immediately); until showing the authentic origin of the titans, including where the names of the walls of Paradis come from. However, I am going to focus on the following detail: When in episode 3x21, Grisha asks Eren Kruger (the Owl) on the wall of the wharf who was Founder Ymir really, Kruger answers him: *"Under Marley authority, she's a pawn of the devil. During the Eldian Empire era, she was a miracle of God. Some say she touched the source of all living matter. Who's to say they're wrong? The only truth in this world is that there is no truth. Anyone can become a god or a devil. All it takes is for people to believe it."* The thing that Founder Ymir touches is "the source of all living matter", based on a real living being that existed on our planet, that the pantheologists named as *Hallucigenia* It is one of the rarest prehistoric creatures, not only because it is one of the oldest fossils ever discovered (it seems to come from the Cambrian period, which lasts from 538.8 million years ago to 485.4 million years ago), but because it's still unknown which was the head and which was the tail of its body, among many other things.

It's exceptional how this subverts the expectation of the viewer. The first episode of the show is called "To you, 2000 Years From Now" and since it's narrated by Armin for the entirety of season 1, we expect it to mean that we're watching basically "history" itself This episode however is called "From you, 2000 Years Ago" which instantly flips that expectation. The first episode meant it was 2000 years from Ymir's life. And this episode we're taking a peek 2000 years into the past.

I think the memories of the future thing is just an illusion created by the attack Titan and possibly founder ymir. Memories are some of the most fallible things about us humans. Either Kruger actually said Armin and mikasas names to grisha or that's just a made up memory by the attack titan to make eren think that that's actually what happened. Again, either the attack titan chose those two names and somehow through the paths made their parents name their kid thus, or the memory itself was altered with those names inserted. Same as in the royals under the church, We only ultimately know what happened through erens memories. The attack titan is always seeking freedom, but ultimately freedom is, at the end of it all, is just death.

We don't have an exact size comparison of Titans, but based off some pictures from the manga and some math (assuming theres no weird prospective shenanigans going on) Ymir's founding titan was HUGE. Best estimates are between 100-150 meters tall. That just around Eren's head level as his new Founding Titan, and thats WITHOUT having an elongated spine due to being decapitated. Ymir's Titan is undoubtedly the biggest at base, shes even taller than Rod Reiss's Titan, and she can stand up straight.

Try to keep an open mind about Eren's intentions as you finish up the series. Just as in life, AOT is not a matter of black and white but various shades of gray. Part of the reason this story is so compelling is because of the nuances and believability that the writer puts into these characters and their motivations.

Eren's actions are essentially the opposite of Zeke's. Zeke wanted to sacrifice Eldians in favor of the world, while Eren sacrifices the world for Eldia. Of course unike Zeke he has no option than outright killing them, because the founder has no influence over those that aren't subjects of Ymir. The scouts have been trying to figure out a compromise which Armin mentions here as a small scale rumbling used to force peace negotiations.

As people have calculated, there are hundreds of thousands of wall titans, all of them as tall as the colossal (their feet were in the ground, which is why 1. it was pretty much impossible for a normal person to dig under the walls and 2. the colossal titan was able to look over the wall) and just as hot. While there's a lot of debate about whether modern military could stop the rumbling, it is definitely an unstoppable force in aot. Defeating just ONE colossal took a great plan and Armin's sacrifice, and while these titans are just marching and not trying to fight the scouts, there still won't be enough skilled fighters to take out the entire army. But then again, none of the skilled fighters would have any reason too, right? Sure the rumbling is genocide, but it protects Paradis, so one would have to be very against genocide to try to fight

Frieda's Founding Titan was a mere demo version. Ymir's Founding Titan is the full-game. Grisha's Founding Titan was never activated because it was pirated and he doesn't have a key. Eren's Founding Titan got activated because Ymir gave her keys and it came with all the dlc. Freed Ymir's new Founding Titan powers is AoT on PSVR2. regarding the royal blood line... - it's the consensus of the community that it's the product of incest. either fritz impregnated one of ymir's daughter or had one his sons marry one of ymir's daughter. if he can have his daughter's eat their mother's corpse, incest is nothing. - and this also answers the question who the people of wall sina are and why they're not affected by the titan curse - they are full blooded eldians. so if the world want revenge against the real oppressors, paradis can offer up the people of wall sina and call it even. 😈

What do those words actually mean in the context of AOT anymore? Good? Evil? What are those ideals? AOT kind of reflects our real world in that sense. It's honestly a sad story, where basically everyone is a villain in some sort of way. As Armin said in season 1, "I don't like the terms "good person" or "bad person" because it is impossible to be entirely good to everyone. To some, you are a good person, while to others, you are a bad person." He's also said "A person who cannot sacrifice everything, cannot change anything" (foreshadowing on another level if you ask me) Zeke wanted to sacrifice Eldians as a whole to save the world. Marley wanted to sacrifice Paradis to save the world. Eren wants to sacrifice the world to save the Eldians on Paradis. All are bad. There's no good here. It's gross to see people siding so heavily with Eren, being totally okay with him killing billions because of a military force that wants to wipe them out. Genocide is a villainous thing to do, regardless of what the reasons for it are or how "understandable it is". Why would Eldians deserve more of a chance at life as opposed to the rest of the world? Y'all just side with Eren because you saw everything from his perspective for 3 seasons. So yes, to the world, Eren is a villain, and if you have even a shred of empathy, you will see Eren as a villain as well. That doesn't mean you don't understand his reasonings, we do understand. We just don't agree. There are far better options to deal with the situation at hand, but Eren has a one track mind. To him, freedom means no one opposes him, so he chooses to kill everyone so no one CAN oppose him. That's not freedom. That's still genocide. Yes, Marley is at fault too, the rest of the world's leaders are at fault too (outside of the people of Hizuru, which some of y'all seem to forget are literally on Paradis' side).

Hey! An opinion & choice that will be hugely varied from every fan of AoT. I don't think I could answer the question when we have the 360 view, the life and experiences of each character and viewpoint, when Eren really only has his view. thats assuming the choice is binary, there are other ways of doing this without causing a KT class extinction event, destroying all millitaries, libraries and manufacturing facilities to regress technology back to where titans can dominance is one such option. !!! SPOILERS, if you didn't watch the rest !!! All of Eren's friends would survive in both cases, would it be Zeke's plan or original plan with crushing Marley's military. It's confirmed by everybody including Armin and Eren himself that they would've live their lifes in peace. Now all of his friends are giving their lifes to stop him, so yeah, he is villain. He admitted in the last movie that he was just salty after discovering that the rest of humanity lived relatively better for all this years. Furthermore, he sacrificed his own mother and hometown just in purpose of justifying the genocide, tortured his father and brother who genuinly cared for him (he even wanted to show Zeke how he was eating Grisha: 5:22). I'm a big Eren fan, he is a deep and multi-layered character, but his desicion is based more on his maniacal mentality, rather than strategy or productivity for anybody. IMO siding with him is almost a slight disrespect rather than kudos to his character.
