Hi, Sludge is a precursor for stone formation. Usually, if you take meals that require a lot of bile for digestion, the frequent emptying of the gb will wash out the sludge (mud-like bile matter). So indulge in rich meals once a week to keep your gb free of sludge. Do a repeat scan after 2-3 months to see the difference.

If there is no pain, indigestion, fever, vomiting or jaundice, we can wait for a year or two before repeating scan. If the above symptoms or even if two of them are there now, we can do a lap cholecystectomy to remove the gb. If repeat scan after 1-2 years show an increase in the polyp size or number, we are better off with gallbladder removal.
