I'm watching this on my phone on the toilet. I wonder if that would blow his mind.

Watching and listening to this gives one to know that what Bertrand Russell said of GBS was absolutely on target. Russell said that he thought Shaw was pure ego, and boy howdy does it show! Listening to Shaw for more than two minutes needs to be accomplished wearing a large pair of hip waders. My question is this: Was Shaw so very insecure that he needed to sell himself that hard in spite of a proven gift and well expressed talent?

According to things I have read in the past, Shaw was always a very cocky and confrontational boy and in his early teenage he became convinced that being an extroverted ego on legs was his ticket for the gravy train. He was a consumate self-publicist - though not always to his own benefit. John Lennon was of somewhat similar mind, but it's not a rare thing among creatives. In Shaw's case you have the feeling that the "act" became the man.

@@lucasgrey9794 I suppose that all depends on who's running the death panel. I would agree there are far too many useless people walking around.
