Mako is in my carry rotation, love the finish and the trigger on it. Carries really light for me in a Vedder holster. Zero failures so far and plenty accurate. Great review 👍🏻

The mag catch bump on the front of the magazine looked a bit like FN's, and the mag releases on my FN's tend to be a bit glitchy when run right-handed (work great LH, though). Have handled a couple of Mako's. They feel better than they look. I'd like it better if the grip was long enough so that the 13 rd mag was flush fit.

Carry's nice, Today was my first day of Owning the Kimber mako r7, I was going to carry for my left hand because i am missing half of my trigger finger on my Right. I find i can use whats left of the finger to help brace the gun and should be able to shoot fine. I tested out grips in both hands and because i am using my middle finger on my right hand for the trigger my hand is grasping the grip much snugger than if i used my left hand with my index finger for the trigger. The only down side is my middle finger is a little trickier to get on the trigger because its slightly longer but i think that is just something i can get used to. If the gun didn't rest as snug as it does in my right hand i would for sure be shooting with my left. When placing my Left hand index finger where i want on the trigger it forces me to grip the gun lower than i want to.

Interesting locking idea. Almost seems like it achieves a similar thing to the truely original Browning lockup as seen on the high power, CZ-75, and the 1911, but in a very novel way. Having shot one of these myself when they first came out, honestly I was not impressed. Not a *bad* pistol by any means, but doesn't fit me or what I am looking for.

The BUbbit's-Improved Browning Action does not require as much barrel tilt; as a result the feed ramp can be shorter and barrel lower.

So I was looking at this and you make a super compelling point for this pistol. A question.... The magazines look like cz75 mags.... Could this pistol actually function with CZ75 mags? That would be huge. A micro compact that takes the same mags as a full size...... Apparently the Masada Slim does.... Can you confirm this, I trust you the most on how well something actually functions safely and reliably. Great stuff as always

Thank you. However I don't have any try CZ mags to test. If you want a micro that runs regular mags the Canik MC9 runs TP9 magazines

Did you figure what happened with the magazine release getting stuck? To me it looks like when you switch the side for button to be pressed it became stuck until same side pressed again, if that made sense.

Yeah, sorry. It's still a Kimber. One design feature that I'm specially concerned about (besides that it has Kimber on the side) is the narrow ejection port. I live, recreate, and shoot in adverse conditions (rural Alaska), and that can be a failure point even on the best of guns...which being a Kimber it certainly isn't. They really really need to focus on their revolvers. It seems like all of Kimber's best people work on revolvers and rifles now.
@isaiahrojas7782 Жыл бұрын
What’s wrong with it? The shell will still eject.
@isaiahrojas7782 Жыл бұрын
What “adverse conditions” do you “recreate” and how would the narrow port fail in said conditions?
@JD-tn5lz Жыл бұрын
@@isaiahrojas7782oh my. Because there is a narrower and more defined path for the spent case to travel. So if you have a dirty firearm from either use or environment, the recoil may be less vigorous. Often is, and you want to stack the odds in your favor. Also, when you have a stovepipe, and you WILL if you shoot enough of anything, the very first tell is the brass blocking your sight. With the ejection port being side only, that creates a delay because it's not automatic. I have another firearm using this same system, and it's proven rock solid reliable; the only issue is an occasional FTE.
@JD-tn5lz Жыл бұрын
It's recreate as in recreation.
