I've seen the J. Geils Band more times than I can recall. In the early 70's they played the Central Florida area at least two of three times a year and I wouldn't miss a show if at all possible. They always put on a high energy show and in my opinion are one of the best live bands ever.

I went to at least 6 J Geils shows at Boston Garden back in the 70's. There was general admission so everybody had a chance to be in the front row closest to the stage. We held up lighters instead of cell phones. Great rock and roll bands from Boston then. You could see Peter Wolf at Boston rock clubs or just walking down Newbury Street or in Kenmore Square. Led Zep at Pittsburgh's Three Rivers Stadium was the best concert in my life. Jimmy Page and Robert Plant would hit a joint that was thrown onto the stage and toss it back into the crowd. Four solid hours of music. 8:00 to ten, half an hour break, then continued until the fire marshall sut down the show at 12:30. The Stones and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young in Cleveland are a very close tie for second.
