Very nice! I love micros but as far as jets go there's not many good ones to choose from. This looks like a great one!

I'm loving mine Tim, I'm glad you emphasised the servo positioning for builders. I also had to epoxy in my motor. I found my battery was too big for the holder but there's plenty of space. I've only flown mine in the wind which it does really well, cheers 👍

Hi Cliff, thanks for checking in! Yes, the Savannah is a fun little model that really flies well. Most impressive kit. Same happened to me on the battery fit. I think somewhere along the line some additional material was added to the two cell format, making it a bit too large.

I wish they designed the wing as a complete airfoil the way micro aces does their models. I'm holding off on building mine until I find a brushless set up I can have some confidence in. Possibly a micro outrunner or heli motor. Also using an 8 blade fan. Hoping it will have a little better vertical performance

The Savannah actually flies a lot faster than the video with the new 2 cell lipo. I was keeping the airspeed lower for better video shots. The plane can scoot along.

How would you compare this to a UMX Sabre in terms of performance? I am aware that the Sabre has a brushless motor and 4S battery, but it is over 3 times the weight…
@TimMcKay562 ай бұрын
I do not have any experience with the UMX Sabra. But the 2 cell lipo in the Savannah jet gives a lot of thrust.

Try contacting MinimumRC. They have always been very good at fixing items of this nature.

I guess nobody "needs" a rudder on a toy plane with ailerons but the 2 grams in weight savings isn't worth losing an entire axis of movement. I guess it depends on how you want to fly. 🤷♀🤷♂
@TimMcKay562 ай бұрын
For high speed flight like this I do not think a rudder is needed. Even on full scale jets you'd be surprised how little the rudder is used in normal flight operations. Plus, a lot easier on the installation without the rudder.
@galardo33032 ай бұрын
2 grams is huge on a plane this small. Also u dont really dont need a rudder on an airplane with ailerons u are "steering" with the elevator and the angle of the plane anyways. The rudder is quite useless on a jet.
