Once she introduced the points based immigration she made 14 changes. These included dropping the minimum salary job offer requirement. Scrapping the limit on the number that could enter through this scheme and the requirement for employers to first try fill positions with British Nationals and advertise vacancies in the UK. This meant employers could offer lower salaries, bring in as many foreign workers as they wanted and recruit overseas without even advertising the vacancies in the UK. This was not about filling skill shortages which could be done by training British Nationals it was about providing employers with cheap labour to the detriment of the British people.
