Problem is the petition will not be debated on the main floor of the house it will be in Westminster Hall with a few MP’s. However, hopefully it will alert every MP to the strong feelings of the electorate. Maybe MP’s will putin no confidence letters, or leave the Labour Party thereby reducing the majority and maybe the opposition parties will start shouting for a no confidence vote across the house. I have signed, it and am encouraging others to do so. I have also informed my MP that I have signed it and asked her to consider stepping down as MP. 100%. In my view it's not all about sending a message to Starmer either - I don't think he responds to anything that might suggest a challenge to his authority. It's about that message reaching the 411 MP's who sit on Labour's backbenches. According to Rosie Duffield, Starmer barely acknowledges their existence so they may not be as loyal as they could be if he were responsive. Labour MP's - especially the new ones - must be getting demoralised, and it is going to get worse for them as time goes on because the effects of Starmer's policies are going to be felt in the coming months. It's Starmer's own Cabinet and MP's who can ultimately force him out, and I'd bet my house that there are a few who are ambitious enough to want that to happen. Hi from Canada , if you know someone with a sewing machine….it’s easy to make rice bags … 2 pieces of 12 inch square of cotton … Stitch 3 sides to make a bag , fill with a cup of uncooked rice….don’t fill too much as it needs to move around ( you judge depending on the size you are making) machine stitch the 4th side closed … Then pop in the microwave for 2 minutes to heat up . .. With a metre or a yard of cotton & a couple of pounds of rice …you can make several of these within a couple of hours…One for each hand & foot…. or put them in your bed, to warm up the bed if you don’t have an electric blanket or heat pad….When they cool off just reheat in microwave …Maybe if you belong to a seniors centre several of you could do these together as a project……They can last for years …just DON’T OVER HEAT….no more than 2 mins ( depends on your microwave) OR check out your local drug store to see if they sell them commercially…… ….
