Actually the Romans did a great deal for us. They built roads across the country, invented central heating, brought baths, culture, wine and trade to this country. Built many brick built buildings , cities , built canals, ports, They brought government, taxes and coinage to these islands, a common language latin. Much of English has its roots in latin today. The reason they did that was that the budget contained tax cuts for the people, who they've spent years making sure the boot is on the neck of, so tax cuts were not something they would allow.
