Munster Fan, and loving the introduction of your teams to the URC. SA two week rugby trip has become a bucket list trip, because your fans are a class act. The crews on the SS rugby Chanel are kinda cocky. Then listening to the boots on the ground, thought change, no, they (SA rugby people) are second to none. @@cofy3295Not that much interest in the URC from our fans at first, but many of us know enjoy it as much as we did Super Rugby against the NZ and Aus teams. Probably the most physical battle, ‘within the laws’, on a rugby field. Ireland really gave the Boks a taste of their own medicine and the Boks struggled to adjust in that first half. Keenan, JGP & Hansen were unavailable and then Sheehan and Casey went down injured in the first test. All key players. He then drops POM and Aki for 2nd test and decides to bring in some other lads who chomping at the bit to wear that green jersey and play against the world champions and they all delivered. GBR lads talking about the ABs lineout like it was a disaster. They disrupted 4, 2 of which were just bumbles by people dropping the ball. One which was knocked on from the top. England similarly, had about the same percentage of troubles, yet no comment. Clean breaks/defenders beaten. England didn’t really do a lot. If the only strategy to attack is to kick the ball and hope you recover it, then you’ve likely already lost the game before it starts. I know you lads want to support the English boys and build it up that it was close. But if we look at ceilings. The ABs have so much room to improve, the English however are already close to that ceiling.

Yeah, all we heard was England, poor England, coulda, shoulda, woulda came up countless times. The end result that matters is the scoreboard after 80. It stands as ABs 2-0 after 2 tests. I found it quite irritating hearing about all the growth England has in their game, which is fair that may be the case, yes. But they clearly see this AB side for what it was after them 2 games. Shane Horgan was happy to throw some jabs in saying there's something wrong with us and our aura being gone, etc. We are just building. There will be innovation in our game to come. I have no doubt Razor wanted to keep things simple for this series and firstly win the tests. They did that. There will be things Razor won't be happy with, and I'm sure they will be addressed and that maybe including selection of the side or members of the wider squad coming in. It's funny, though, just 2 games, and we are written off even though we won them ugly, however you want to call it. If we win the Rugby Championship, it will be interesting to see what they say.

New coaching staff, ABs lost their starting locks, halfback, blindside and 1st 5 from last year and have just come together as a team. Its crazy how much the ABs get overlooked when they win and its more how the opposition lost it
@tristanmckenzie16234 ай бұрын
@@usedtoreadwordupmagazineYeah I think the rest of the world continuously gauge the ABs from 100 years of history and there dominance in world Rugby over the last couple of decades. It's only since 2015 when the ABs lost there once in a generation type of players the ABs started to drop a few tests here and there including to teams the ABs haven't lost too. We are always judged against them great eras so anything less than what we achieved from those sides we get pushed aside as a side in transition or a team that has lost its way and any victory we seem to have even if it's against a top northern hemisphere side, they see themselves bigger than us now and expect to beat us in there eyes. So when it doesn't happen it becomes a whinge debate about what they did wrong to apose to what we did better than them to win the game. We probably need to go through the whole year unbeaten to shift the narrative of people wiping out that negativity towards the ABs aura.

We are in a new era where there is not much between the top teams as we know. What this means is noone has to win every game to be #1...because numerous teams can beat another on any day. They simply have to win a good portion against good oppostion. Gone are the days of the dominance that the AB's had for so long where they won almost every game and were expected to win every game. If/when Ireland/AB's/France/England get to #1 it will be well deserved and the same principle should apply. Be at #1 and lose a game or 2 to the top teams should not suddenly mean you are not #1. The debate will always be there I suppose. Also, with teams changing up now, not sure how relevant it is at this point in time anyway.

Boks, AB's, Ireland and France, they have second 15's who could beat, or run very very close to beating England, Scotland. Problems that Both England and Scotland face for different reasons, no strength in depth. Scotland simply has few players to choose from. England, well they do too, but thats because the prem is full of foreign players blocking the progression of home grown talent. ERFU need to do something about this, but they won't, because the prem structure is broken.

I'm not sure about second string teams from the top 4 ranked teams being strong enough to beat England. Yes England are still developing but they lost to South africa in the rwc semi by a point , they lost in NZ by a point in the first test beat Ireland and lost to France. I think England's ranking at 5th is a fair reflection on where they are however they are getting there. . As for the premiership yes it does have foreign players however PR has restricted how many can be on a match squad . I agree that overseas players have negatively affected developing new players in certain positions like centres . England are desperate for quality props but there is decent depth in in the looks and back row. Nine and ten they have options as well as the back three . Certainly the premiership isn't perfect but more EQPs are playing in the premiership. As a tournament yes they dropped down to 10 teams but it has been competitive and their teams did well in the European Champions. It has problems but it isn't broken.

The penalty for the obstruction was spot on. It was a text book case of a maul halting, then a break away group setting off with the ball carrier not at the front. Too often it isn't penalized as it should be. What was an error from the ref (and the AR's and TMO) was in the lead up to the AB's first try, Ardie Savea goes into contact and has a knee on the ground. At this point he is technically tackled and must release the ball before regaining his feet but he carries on regardless and makes a lot of metres on his carry, which set things up the try. If ball carriers get the advantage of the tacklers being called to release when they barely get a knee to ground to be technically tackled, they can't at other times get a knee to ground and carry on as if it didn't happen. Otherwise the reffing was pretty good.

As a Irish fan this was great. Though still confusing why the team can't turn up at world cups. They must surely learn from all world cups

the luck of the Irish? 😜🍀 Remember the ABs have gone to most RWCs (except the last) clear favourites and tripped up several times.

South African here. Congratulations to Ireland. Their performance deserved them the win, as bitter as it was for us to swallow. As for this "Best team in the world" debate, when the All Blacks were dominant between 2011 and 2015, we did not see them calling themselves the best because they knew they were the best and did not have to overtly say it. To my memory, only some Ireland fans/pundits have been suggesting that Ireland is the best team in the world, even when they exited the World Cup at a quarter-final again, and were no longer ranked first. In other words, Irish fans are the only persons to make this claim despite their team having not won a World Cup. For me, this is just an indication of their desperation to get the World Cup monkey off their backs. To be clear, there is no hate from my side - I just find it interesting.

You have it so wrong! Irish people are some of the most self-deprecating- it’s not Irish fans or pundits who are saying this, it’s the non-Irish press. And it’s just fodder for the trolls to have a go at a small rugby nation who are performing better than many of the bigger nations. The Irish never take anything for granted but know how to keep pushing themselves to be better.

Two ex players one Welsh and the other a Scot commentating on Irelands 6 Nations title describe Ireland as the best team in the world infuriating South African fans who attribute it to the Irish players and media. Then players got involved and what started as a nothing comment by a neutral then became a thing. Totally blown up by fans and content creators on social media It just demonstrates how fragile and precious some fans really are getting upset over an argument you would expect to hear in a school yard between children

Forget the Goal kick Shot Clock. World Rugby needs a Water Boy Clock 😂 Ireland are the better side. Nobody believed the ABs weren't the best in the world from 96' to 2011 despite failing at World Cups. Boks have 4 Rugby Championships in 28 years. They arent consistent enough.

Shane Horgan, you bad man! 😉How crafty of you to take the spotlight off Ireland (who have arguably been the best team in the world over the last 5 years) and insist that the Northern hemisphere need to get together to take NZ (your craftiness confirmed by the way the learned panel all piled on with your suggestion! 😊 Surely the rugby teams need to be focusing on taking down Ireland and South Africa instead! I've got my one-eyed AB supporter radar attuned to your shenanigans😅 Great show lads. Love the insightful banter.

I really think the wreckless physicality we saw on Saturday is a race to the bottom, but if you don’t bring that against SA you are on the backfoot. When you compare the blood and impacts on Saturday to most of the yellow and red cards for head coontact we have seen in recent years, the idea of player welfare is turned on its head

I can tell you what annoyed a lot of irish fans and maybe some players was the constant making fun of the song zombie… if anyone knows what that song is about you can’t just bastardise it, the dj in loftus hyping up the crowd when Casey was knocked out cold surrounded by medics. Ironically the disrespect from the dj again when he played emotional damage after Crowley missed a kick only for Frawley to seal the deal with a drop kick… im still baffled as to how world champions couldn’t score one try
