World Rugby needs to be made a democratic organization firstly. How is it that South America & Europe the two fastest growing regions for union won't get a seat on the Executive Committee because they supported Benazzi ? Why is it many Tier 2's don't even get a say in the direction the sport is going. It's still an old boys club. Don't expect much change from Robinson another dinosaur like Beaumont.

IMHO SA have the majority younger players who are the core of their squad when the RWC comes around next time, starting off the bench, and the majority "older" players who may not be around at the next RWC to close out games. We have that depth but other teams do not have that. Look at Ireland. The majority of their players are on the older side, and will fizzle out by next RWC. England's younger squad is not getting the results. The pundits should have faith in the process. The team will be formidable in the RWC.

I think if the award was based on purely rugby played throughout 2024, then either Pieter-Steph du Toit or Ox Nche should win it. But Eben Etzebeth also had a storming year; he reached an incredible milestone, he captained a few matches and vice captaineed the rest. Add to that fact that he has been pivotal and iconic for the Boks for so long, I think he'll win the award based off of that.

It’s just Joe he changed Irish rugby and made us believe we can go anywhere and win. He came in to Ireland and won the 6 nations his 1st year. Italy beat us the year before. So Joe can fix it fast. I really hope this LIV Rugby idea can be worked out in collaboration with World Rugby and effectively functions as a club tier between the current club comps and the international game. So have the existing clubs as part of feeder catchments for these new teams. I.e all of the MLR and Super Rugby Americas clubs go into one Americas team; the Currie Cup teams fall into one team; the rest of Africa in another; the west of France, Spain and Portugal in one team; the east of France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Eastern Europe in another; Australia into one; the Pacific into one; the Kiwis into one; China, Hong Kong and Japan in another etc. This way the promising club players in each catchment can develop and gain more experience playing against world-class competition and feed that back into their clubs without cannibalising the existing clubs and comps.

So people who don’t follow rugby will be suddenly attracted because 40 players they’ve never heard of are getting 1m each to play a game that doesn’t interest them somewhere they don’t live? At the same time as alienating the fans that sport does have, who routinely put loads of money into following the current structure? Yeah sounds like a solid plan.
